I was going through an old 1966 Jets vs Raiders AFL football program the other day and saw this article.

Many Raiders Seeking Jobs in the Bay Area

The Raiders play their final game of the 1966 season next Sunday at the Coliseum and following that game some squad members will be making their way to other parts of the country to further their education or take off-season employment. A large number of the Raiders, however, will be remaining in the Bay Area and are presently seeking employment. Anyone interested in hiring a Raider for the off-season should contact the Raider office at 834-2171.

My how things have changed! For the good, I don't know.

I do remember Bob Kaufman from the Buffalo Braves, who I believe was the NBA Rookie of the Year, bartending at Brennans Bowery Bar in the 70's.

I liked the old days when actors, athletes and other assorted celebrities needed the extra cash so they all did shows like The Superstars or The Love Boat or various game shows.

I don't know what would be so good about those days if the team owners raked in billions from you sacrificing your body.

Owners were making billions in the 60s and 70s?
