EDinRTP
I was going through an old 1966 Jets vs Raiders AFL football program the other day and saw this article. Many Raiders Seeking Jobs in the Bay Area The Raiders play their final game of the 1966 season next Sunday at the Coliseum and following that game some squad members will be making their way to other parts of the country to further their education or take off-season employment. A large number of the Raiders, however, will be remaining in the Bay Area and are presently seeking employment. Anyone interested in hiring a Raider for the off-season should contact the Raider office at 834-2171. My how things have changed! For the good, I don't know. I do remember Bob Kaufman from the Buffalo Braves, who I believe was the NBA Rookie of the Year, bartending at Brennans Bowery Bar in the 70's. KD in CA
I liked the old days when actors, athletes and other assorted celebrities needed the extra cash so they all did shows like The Superstars or The Love Boat or various game shows. PromoTheRobot
I don't know what would be so good about those days if the team owners raked in billions from you sacrificing your body.
Best Player Available
I'm sure someone remembers the players name. he's from the early 60's and as a Bill had it put on his contract he would be assured a job at Twin Fair. During the off season.
Chef Jim
This is one of the reasons I don't watch sports that much anymore and have not been in a movie theater in over 10 years. Money has ruined them both. Oh and regarding the Super Stars. My favorite is when Smokin' Joe almost drowns on TV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPk2zl5s6xM Gotta love his determination. Johnny Hammersticks
Owners were making billions in the 60s and 70s? Billions weren't discovered until the early 90's.
