boyst Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 There is a lot more to this than what is presented. They installed one in my county many years ago. Said it was going to add 100+ jobs and they needed specific land. They took land that was perfect for agriculture, went way over budget and got incentives beyond belief to install the facility which employs 3 full time employees and a handful of techs which come in only to service the machines once in a while; there is not much upkeep. It's been a laughing stock here in the county, it takes a lot of land and does very little to add to the community - the ends do not justify the means.
unbillievable Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 California’s new solar power plant is actually a death ray The plant, which uses some 350,000 garage-door-sized mirrors to focus sunlight on three boiler towers, also acts as a death ray, instantly igniting and killing any wildlife that happen to fly through the intense beam of light.

Mike in Horseheads Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 "He said the solar farms would suck up all the energy from the sun and businesses would not come to Woodland." HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
