FireChan Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 No im criticizing him based on the rose colored glasses that many posters here are wearing. I have said... and will continue to saym he isnt anything special.. Yet. I am saying im tired of reading delusional posts. Im saying im tired man. Enough. His first campaign. He is not a top 5 qb yet. He is not the teams backbone yet. He is just 1 of the 11 on offense. He has done bare mininum to say he has solidified his starting job next year. We are drafting a qb. And we might have one.... not compete with ej... but with tyrod for the number 1. Agree with the last. TT doesn't own the job yet.

And we might have one.... not compete with ej... but with tyrod for the number 1. Wait a second mister. He is the 5th best quarterback in the league (*accoring to QB rating). The proof is right in the numbers. Exactly. Either be good enough to not have to worry, or you have to deal with competition. I agree with his completely. If you can't handle the pressure of competition with your starting job, then how are you going to be able to handle the pressure of a playoff game
Alphadawg7 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 He stated facts. We are winless when we threw 30 times. And BS Lesean mccoy is who carries this team. Point blank. He was NEVER the sole reason we were in games. We win when he plays well. There is no pecking order if you dont have favre brady manning 98-13 rodgers. You keep striving when this is your reality. No one should ever be safe on a team that cant win hahaha, the irony of your statement. He is never why we win, but we win he also has played well? In what world does that even make sense. You literally just stated he isn't why we win, but coincidentally when he plays well we also win...yet he some how has nothing to do with it? And another fun fact is that I didn't say McCoy carries this team. In fact, I didn't even mention McCoys name in the post you replied to. But still, the point you tried to make is still hilariously contradicting to yourself.
John from Riverside Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 No sir. He is a backup at this point. I dont believe it is his last hurrah. Lets not make him out to be fitz on the lead blocks Does he or does he not get out on running plays as a blocker?
NOVABillsFan Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 (edited) Which 2 games? Tennessee I take it and what other game? houston? You could look at Houston, but there was a time where I thought the team was ready to flop again. Games they (with TT, since he is the subject matter) should have won, NYG, KC, and Philly. machine gun kelly Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 TT will start next year, but hopefully we draft a solid prospect. If he truly develops to a frnachise QB, we'll know it. If not, we have to hope we drafted well. I expect Rex will make Whaley draft all of the players he likes for his type of defense. If it works, great, if not can Pegula dril another hole to cover the contract of Rex and fire his ars.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 QB decisions: Cut or keep them? Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo BillsStatus: Signed for 2016 and free agent in 2017 (Record: 6-5 as starter; Comp. percentage: 63.5%; Y/A: 7.9; TDs: 18; INTs: 5; Passer rating: 100.9) STRENGTHS BB: Taylor is an explosive, dual-threat playmaker with impressive arm talent and pocket-passing ability. He terrorizes opponents with his improvisational skills but also displays the discipline at times to pick apart defenses. DJ: Taylor is a dynamic athlete and he excels at extending plays and delivering the ball accurately down the field. He is a good decision maker, and he's very well-liked by his teammates. WEAKNESSES BB: Taylor is still learning how to play winning football for the Bills. He has struggled with situational awareness and time management, which has cost the Bills' scoring opportunities in critical moments. DJ: Lack of ideal size and durability are the main concerns. He'll need to protect himself better in order to survive 16 games a year on a consistent basis. SHOULD THEY KEEP HIM: BB: Yes. Taylor has been a terrific addition to the roster. He has given the Bills a charismatic leader and dynamic playmaker at quarterback. Most importantly, Taylor has flourished in Greg Roman's system, which is why the Bills remain in contention for a playoff berth despite a disappointing defense. DJ: This one is easy. They should look to lock him up to a long-term deal. He has a unique skill set and his intangibles limit the risk of this being a fluke season. The cost will only go up if they decide to wait another year to get a deal done.

Making a decision on Taylor is one of the easier decisions this organization has on their large plate. If you have a horse in your corral that you can ride you shouldn't leave the gate open so someone else can ride it. Very often out of desperation teams go out and acquire qbs who are on their downside just to get a reasonable level of competency out of that position. With TT there is an upside. Securing him sooner is better than securing him later when the costs dramatically go up. Having him in the fold doesn't preclude the franchise from working on a backup plan, just in case.

NOVABillsFan Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Lock him up long term shouldn't mean break the bank. Use this word in the restructure / contract - INCENTIVES. If I could I would specify incentives based on: # of Passing plays, Red Zone efficiency and the 2 minute drill efficiency.
