BillsFan130 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Odell, Julio and Antonio have qbs that throw the ball 40+ times a game we throw half of that. Kind of tough to get 17 targets when you only throw 21 times Yep, and Tyrod is not exactly Eli, Ben or Matt Ryan yet
nucci Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Yep, and Tyrod is not exactly Eli, Ben or Matt Ryan yet I'm glad he's not Matt Ryan
quinnearlysghost88 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Our best player is McCoy. I'd say it's sammy. mccoy is getting guaranteed touches out of the backfield and as a safety valve when the coverage is tight. sammy had THREE catches yesterday and it was a TD and over 100yds receiving. could you imagine if he got as many touches at mccoy?
Billsfan1972 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Yep, and Tyrod is not exactly Eli, Ben or Matt Ryan yet Again averaging under 5 targets and 80-90th in the league is criminal. Hoyer finds Deandre 12+/game...... The Bills are 6-6 this year not 9-3......
4merper4mer Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Our best player is McCoy. I would have though you'd have gone with Brady. Is McCoy that new linebacker?
Billsfan1972 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 107th in Targets!!!!! That's pathetic......
87168 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 107th in Targets!!!!! That's pathetic...... especially when we made a major move to obtain him. it just doesn't make any sense. I don't understand how some members here don't see that.
nucci Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 especially when we made a major move to obtain him. it just doesn't make any sense. I don't understand how some members here don't see that. You're saying we don't notice that Sammy is not being targeted enough?
klos63 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 As another poster stated..... The Bills are the only team in the league that knows how to stop Sammy, and they're damn good at it. Yes a win, but the Bills are the better team, at home and the game still came down to the last 2 minutes. 4 Targets, 3 completions (and one called back that was actually thrown over the middle). That is not enough. Was at the game and Sammy always lined up the same, outside and only a few times in the slot. They need to move him around or try and hide him. Again let's look at the Odell 11 targets, Julio 17, Brown 11...... He asked for 10 targets and the last 6 quarters 5!!!!! Odell's team lost, Julio's team lost...., Giants are under .500, Falcons are falling apart
FireChan Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Odell's team lost, Julio's team lost...., Giants are under .500, Falcons are falling apart Teams sometimes do positive things and still lose. Just like teams can win and do some negative things. In case you were wondering.
Billsfan1972 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Because you win doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. Houston got the ball with 2 minutes and could ave won (like the Bills complain they could have too in 5 of their losses). And Watkins hasn't had any YAC all year. Bombs are nice, but only one was in stride that should have been taken to the house (watkins did juggle it). I'd like to see him run with the ball like receivers generally do....
johnwalter Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Pro Football Focus @PFF 2m 2 minutes ago Sammy Watkins (+8.1) has the 4th highest grade among WRs since Week 9. Starting to really cook on gas.
eball Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Why the Bills haven't run any bubble screens to Sammy is still beyond my rudimentary level of comprehension.
klos63 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Teams sometimes do positive things and still lose. Just like teams can win and do some negative things. In case you were wondering. so maybe this means that getting your star receiver 10+ targets a game isn't necessarily a positive thing.
MDH Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 so maybe this means that getting your star receiver 10+ targets a game isn't necessarily a positive thing. Or maybe it means there are other factors that also determine the outcome of the game. Like D, ST, turnovers, penalties, etc., etc. Getting Sammy the ball more would not be a bad thing unless TT staryed forcing it to him no matter what.
BillsFan130 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Again averaging under 5 targets and 80-90th in the league is criminal. Hoyer finds Deandre 12+/game...... The Bills are 6-6 this year not 9-3...... Hoyer also has been benched this year because of interception issues. 100 percent agreed you need to target Sammy more, but tyrod has been coached to not force the issue and not to make the critical mistake. Watkins gets doubled a lot so obviously he is not comfortable throwing it to him 12 times plus per game

Pretty obvious watching that Roman doing a bad job and bad job adjusting to get him the ball Btw Houston is 6-6 too. Edited December 8, 2015 by Billsfan1972

Yes but in my opinion your Hoyer/Hopkins comparison isn't the greatest because he has lost his job multiple times this season. And there are way more important reasons to go into a teams overall record than a quarterbacks targets to their number 1 receiver.. But 4 times? Just wrong. Either plays of called or bad reads. Just gotta be careful and sometimes take what the defence gives you

BillsFan130 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Watch the game & he is open. Call some easy reads to him too. How about yards after catch? I haven't seen the all 22 so I can't really comment if he was open or not but i'll take your word for it
