DC Tom
Little known fact: the last surviving ship from Pearl Harbor, the USS Phoenix, was sunk by the British on May 2, 1982. After the war, the Phoenix was sold to Argentina, and ultimately became the General Belgrano. She was sunk by the submarine HMS Conquerer in the Falklands War, using two Mk VIII torpedoes of World War II vintage (the commander of Conquerer decided to use them because the newer guided torpedoes had reliability problems.) So the last survivor of Pearl Harbor, a ship designed in 1929 and built in 1938, was sunk in 1982 by torpedoes designed in 1924 and built in 1940, fired from a nuclear submarine.
