drinkTHEkoolaid Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Thank you to all who fought back the Nazis and imperial Japan. I'm glad we are speaking English.
DC Tom Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Little known fact: the last surviving ship from Pearl Harbor, the USS Phoenix, was sunk by the British on May 2, 1982. After the war, the Phoenix was sold to Argentina, and ultimately became the General Belgrano. She was sunk by the submarine HMS Conquerer in the Falklands War, using two Mk VIII torpedoes of World War II vintage (the commander of Conquerer decided to use them because the newer guided torpedoes had reliability problems.) So the last survivor of Pearl Harbor, a ship designed in 1929 and built in 1938, was sunk in 1982 by torpedoes designed in 1924 and built in 1940, fired from a nuclear submarine.
boyst Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Thank you to all of those who serve and continue to serve to defense our freedom.

That is very interesting.
Nanker Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 My uncle Raymond served on the USS Arizona. He was there that day, and survived that attack.
