B-Man Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Upset that he didn't get Walker's endorsement, Trump explains that Walker is screwing up Wisconsin because he won't raise taxes. Spoken like a true conservative, Donald. Donald...........you do know that the GOP primary there is a week away........right?
TakeYouToTasker Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Which one? There have been three, all of which would have been objected to by the majority of the Founders. The previous two national banks were tremendous failures and the third has overseen the cratering of the US dollar which has depreciated over 96% in a century's time, so maybe the Founders had a point... But no, that's not what I'm talking about in this conversation. In this case I'm speaking to the money in the political system that's disfranchising the overwhelming majority of Americans in favor of the corporate elite who view themselves as being better, and thus deserving of a bigger voice in the process than everyone else. Money has always been in the political system It's a feature, not a flaw. The Founders had zero intentions of turning control over the county to the regular citizens. They took painstaking steps to make sure that didn't happen. The electoral college, the senate being elected indirectly by the political class, etc. Jefferson spoke at great length in favor of the natural merit based aristocracy. The entire reason that the Constitution replaced the Articles was because the Founders, who included the wealthiest land owners in the colonies, didn't want to personally be on the hook for America's war debt, which they were once the every day citizens wouldn't allow their states to pay the assumed debts under the Articles. The Constitution itself was written, and the original US government abandoned, without the permissions of the electorate. The American system was designed to protect the monied interests from democratic zeal as in France, just as much as it was designed to protect it from Monarchy.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 The American system was designed to protect the monied interests from democratic zeal as in France, just as much as it was designed to protect it from Monarchy. This is a good summary. And it's also a good reason to rethink the republic as it stands.

I was making a more general point that things that fundamentally went against what the Founders would want ended up gone. Eventually.
IDBillzFan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 This just in: Trump spokeswoman who had an affair with Ted Cruz says Trump campaign manager who assaulted a female reporter (and is being represented by a former US attorney who had to quit for biting a stripper) has the full backing of the presidential candidate who plans to boycott a CNN town hall because he's not getting fair press treatment. Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln? Sweet made a reference to Kendall Coffey, a lawyer identified by a Trump campaign statement as representing Lewandowski who resigned from his post as a U.S. attorney in 1996 after he allegedly bit a stripper at a Miami nightclub. Pierson responded by denying Coffey's involvement, instead noting the name of Lewandowski's lead counsel. "This is what I'm talking about, again trying to politicize an incident," she said. "Scott Richardson is Corey Lewandowski's attorney. … You just gave a false name of who is representing Corey Lewandowski." Coffey is listed in a Trump campaign statement as one of the lawyers representing the campaign manager.
IDBillzFan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Coffey is listed in a Trump campaign statement as one of the lawyers representing the campaign manager. And now Trump is wondering if he should have Michelle Fields charged for shouting questions at him. User Actions Follow Donald J. TrumpVerified account@realDonaldTrump Victory press conference was over. Why is she allowed to grab me and shout questions? Can I press charges? Someone needs a Drudge Coulter Hannity hug in the worst way. SAD!!!

I wonder if when you hug Ann Coulter, she slowly sucks the life from you, a bit like getting bitten by a zombie in the walking dead.
IDBillzFan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I wonder if when you hug Ann Coulter, she slowly sucks the life from you, a bit like getting bitten by a zombie in the walking dead. Coulter has gone full gatorman for Trump, and you'd think after her embarrassing backing of Christie, she'd have learned her lesson. It's unfortunate because she's a genuinely smart person who is very good at turning a phrase, but today I'm watching her intentially mis-represent what happened to Michelle Fields -- coupled with someone on Twitter noting how Hannity said he watched the video and still doesn't see anything... really?-- and I'm suddenly thankful Trump has inadvertently managed to cull the conservative herd a bit. This is why they went after Amanda Carpenter; she created an online list of all the "conservatives" who support Trump, and they all look at it like a blacklist.

B-Man Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Question: if trump were intentionally trying to blow the nomination, would he act any differently? The response to C. Lewandowski's arrest is just plain bizarre Again, Trump suggesting that he will keep Corey Lewandowski on his team: "I don’t discard people." "you're fired" is literally his catchphrase Edited March 29, 2016 by B-Man

I really do find all this mania absolutely entertaining and fascinating. I'm a older dude and have never seen anything like it. Honestly don't rag on me because at this point I really don't care who gets in. This whole circus has just proven the entire system is fugged. I used to like Michelle Fields . Now she has shown she is just a foot soldier for the global establishment. Don't even sweat it you guys. They will steal it from Trump by changing the delegation rules somehow. And if it's to much of a landslide for them to pull that shite off they will just end up whacking him. There will be a heart attack, car crash or a mysterious plane crash. Don't worry. You will get more of the same. Crappy trade deals to sell us out to communist countries that use slave labor and no environmental concerns. But it's a even playing field. lol. Hell if your lucky Cruz will win and start a war with Russia ! How awesome wouldn't that be because countries that try them on for size always fare well. Edited March 29, 2016 by Dante

Tell me something: is everyone who doesn't like Trump now part of the establishment?

At what point will you recognize that you've turned into a caricature trump supporter? There's video evidence of Lewandowski grabbing Fields arm. There's definitive proof that trump and the campaign lied about the event and tried to smear Fields. But it's Fields that is the problem here?
