The most common thing I hear is "You are supposed to be the world leader." And they are not being sarcastic. They are truly concerned because they expect the US to provide a role model in some ways. /dev/null
Is it possible for Bloomberg to be on the Nov ballot without running in primaries ? Bloomberg has hinted that he would launch an Independent (not affiliated with any party) bid for the White House. Primaries are party mechanisms to determine their candidates in a General Election. Which makes primaries irrelevant when discussing a Bloomberg candidacy Each state has their own details but pretty much all 50 states require a certain number of signatures of citizens to be included on a General Election ballot The Republican and Democrat parties do the leg work to get their candidates on the ballot in all 50 states and DC The Libertarian party has had the organization to get on the ballot in all 50 states and DC the last few Presidential cycles. Greens, Constitution, Reform, and other 3rd parties have had varied success on a state by state level A non party affiliated candidate running for President, Bloomberg or Ross Perot in 92/96, would need some kind of organization within each state to reach the required signatures to be on that state ballot in the General Election
ALF
Thanks for that info /dev/null This is the most bizarre race . Will be one heck of a Rep convention if Trump does not have enough delegates. Edited March 3, 2016 by ALF
Azalin
Thanks for that info /dev/null This is the most bizarre race . Will be one heck of a Reb convention if Trump does not have enough delegates. My own particular political leanings aside, this is shaping up to be the most fascinating presidential election cycle in my lifetime. One side has been whittled down from what - 17 candidates to four, and the other side has a real-life socialist still actively running and attracting the youth vote. Frightening yes, but fascinating.
