Trump Alone at the Top

Recommended Posts

A better note to Trump may be to remind him not to crap on the parents of veterans. It's hard for Trump to show a little class, but this would be an instance where it might be worth it to just STFU.

If Trump hadn't said a thing, this moment would have been loud for just a moment. But now he's got Republicans disavowing him.

Not that it matters. The Trump supporters here won't deviate from their path. Only Hillary gets vilified for disrespecting soldiers. Trump, well he's not Hillary, so instead let's attack the media on this topic.

And where was the outrage after Hillary said that the mother of the Benghazi victim was a liar?

It was incredibly dumb on Trump's part to comment on that father at all, especially with so many other easy targets on that stage.

Trump plays for the wrong team. The hammering is just beginning for him.

Can't entirely disagree. However, to the father's premise, if Trump really did get his way, then their son would still be alive today. The parent's outrage should be leveled at Hillary - who actually approved of and voted for the war that took their son's life. But everyone knows that Trump won't and can't stop all Muslims from entering the country. He is in favor of vetting the Syrian refugees that B. O. is letting swarm into our country. I don't think that's completely unreasonable.

As to disrespecting soldiers and Marine "Corpsemen," the current autocrat has set a new low bar that one would hope would be raised back up to the level of historic tradition. I know Hillary has utter contempt for the police, Secret Service, and military that guard her every waddle and shouted harangue while speaking down to the American voters like a third grade teacher would to a class of disobedient children who just don't get how truly wonderful she is. HOW DARE THEY NOT VOTE FOR ME?!!!

Really? Posters here talk about it almost daily and it's in the media constantly. Hillary is a POS.

It's just that in perhaps the only area where Trump could say he was better than Clinton (he doesn't crap on dead soldiers' families), he is now doing his best to catch up.

He's trash, bottomless trash. Narcissist to a level that it's hard to measure.

It's not in the news at all. I heard zero mention of it during, much less after, the RNC. And yes, The Donald rivals Barry in the narcissism department.

Trump is afraid of the debates I heard. This is why Trump will always fail he gets distracted by stupid ****. Can't have a guy who has the attention of a child and the maturity of one to be president.

Still not likely, but here is the answer to the previous article posted

Donald Trump has a totally plausible path to 270 electoral votes

Washington Post ^ | Aug 1, 2016 | Chris Cillizza

The New York Times published a great piece Sunday headlined "Electoral Map Gives Donald Trump Few Places to Go." Here's the crux of the article, which was written by the terrific Alexander Burns and Maggie Haberman:

Even as Mr. Trump has ticked up in national polls in recent weeks, senior Republicans say his path to the 270 Electoral College votes needed for election has remained narrow — and may have grown even more precarious. It now looks exceedingly difficult for him to assemble even the barest Electoral College majority without beating Hillary Clinton in a trifecta of the biggest swing states: Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

That's right.

But there are two points worth adding to that analysis: 1) No Republican would have anything but a narrow path to the presidency in 2016 and 2) Trump's path — as outlined by the Times — to get to 270 electoral votes and the White House isn't implausible. At all.

{snip}

For all of the worry about the Blue Wall and Trump's historically poor numbers among Hispanics, the path laid out by the Times for Trump to get to 270 electoral votes is entirely plausible. Here's what the electoral map looks like if Trump wins those three states and nothing else changes from the 2012 election. (You can make your own maps with our cool tool!)

That map gives Trump 273 electoral votes to Clinton's 265. He wins. It's not crazy, right?

Now, Florida and Ohio have gone for President Obama in the 2008 and 2012 elections. And no Republican has carried Pennsylvania at the presidential level since George H.W. Bush in 1988. That said, polling — at least as of today — suggests that Trump is very much in the game against Clinton in all three.

He should be. His role in the RNC debates was to spout a one liner every once in a while. He can't keep up with Hillary in a 1v1 debate--he's an imbecile. "Crooked Hillary" only gets you so far when you have to talk for 5 minutes about the situation on the ground in the Ukraine.

Whatever shot he has, the best path for him is through the rust belt.

Being a career politician certainly gives Clinton the advantage in the debates.... The foreign policy stuff would, in my mind, be the hardest portion to get up to speed on..... Job performance good or bad depending on your partisan politics aside, her experience as SOS will help her look knowledgable and competent to the occasionally engaged voter... I see Trump having a hard time in the debates, especially in this area.

He's going to get killed, well actually it will be self inflicted suicide, in the debates.

He's not good on policy either. He's likely to shift direction mid-sentence and end up who knows where insulting who knows who.
