birdog1960 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) So you agree that both sides have a problem? I do. it's becoming more and more clear to me that we now live in a corporatocracy. much of the media on both sides are deeply involved and or owned by our corporate masters. but the talking heads on the right like limpy and beck seem mostly motivated by their own individual goals. not sure which is worse. ALF Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 You do realize a lot of his support came from the left side of the aisle? In NY only registered Republicans could vote in GOP primary , not sure about rules in rest of country.
Deranged Rhino Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 the left media outlets didn't enable trump So, so, SO incorrect. But carry on.
IDBillzFan Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) You do realize a lot of his support came from the left side of the aisle? Of course not. That would require independent thought...and the true irony of their comments is that they are mocking the infighting and forced self-correction of a party that has gone astray, but quietly and gladly supporting an party that is forcing a angry, old, white money launderer upon them who is getting her ass handed to her by an angry, old, white devout socialist. But yeah...the GOP has problems. Edited May 4, 2016 by LABillzFan

Closer to the truth. You're just blinded by your partisanship to see it all the way through to the logical conclusion.

Deranged Rhino Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 let's assume you are correct. that speaks pretty poorly of the impressionable trump supporters, non? Sure. But the same can be said about the Hillary supporters who turn a blind eye to every scandal because she's Hillary. It works both ways because the "media" is owned by the same group(s) on both sides. It's all theater, designed to rile up the partisans on the right and left and keep them fighting with one another rather than looking at the real problems facing the world/country/little people. Like I said, your second post is much closer to the truth, you're just stopping half way before you reach the ultimate conclusion.

GG Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 let's assume you are correct. that speaks pretty poorly of the impressionable trump supporters, non? We think we're special because we haven't gone through anything like this in nearly a century. But if you examine history, you will recognize eerie parallels to the 1930's. There have always been populists. America was just fortunate that either the general voting public or the power brokers kept the barkers off the main stage. But now, prepare yourself for the freak show.
IDBillzFan Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 But now, prepare yourself for the freak show. Someone tell Data it's time to shine...

I don't think i'd ever fall for trump- like shtick. maybe i'm special. Hillary at least espouses mostly liberal values not far removed from the dem party middle of recent history. I don't particularly like her or the media support that I find unwarranted but she isn't a populist imo. I don't think supporters are being led blindfolded into her camp like thewy are to trump's.

You have your own brand of populism on the left with Bernie. Don't pretend you're special. As said before, Bernie & Trump are opposites of the same coin. They're very good at playing to the base to tell them what's wrong. Too bad their solutions suck.
Deranged Rhino Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 hmmm...you sound like someone that might vote for Bernie. this is what he's been saying all along. It's reality. The consolidation of the media has been deliberate and debilitating for our republic. The more outlandish and crazy the election cycle is, the better for business... so long as the chosen candidate wins that is. Which, she will as it's already been decided. Our votes don't matter, or count, because the federal government doesn't work for us or represent us.

First off, Bernie lost. Secondly, Trump won, and not only that, the second place guy was as nutty as he was. The whole GOP race was a wacky exercise in stupidity. Bernie may have some ideas that are, well, different, but nothing like building a wall

4merper4mer Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Lol, what a schitt show this has turned into. Nice job, GOP! Any blame to the DNC and the grave spitting reprobate or are they absolved as usual? if anything good comes of it, it will most likely be the realization of some on the right of the level of shyster they've been listening to on talk radio/tv propaganda shows and the harm they are doing to the country. We should shut them up schnell. hmmm...you sound like someone that might vote for Bernie. this is what he's been saying all along. He's a commie. Someone tell Data it's time to shine... That dude died in the original but he is in the previews for the sequel. WTF?
Deranged Rhino Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Internet? Things have changed a little greggy boy That's not an answer to the problem. Which you'd know if you knew anything about who owns the most popular internet sites and if you weren't an asshat who lies with everything he types.
GG Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 selling social;ism to most americans is like selling ice to eskimos. it's not a populist strategy. but he states the truth. his solutions need some work. hell every campaign includes pie in the sky solutions but he's not scapegoating groups that have little control over the nations problems. has identifying the true causes. and it's resonating against all odds. that's not populism.. that's swimming upstream. It's a standard populist claptrap by pandering impossible solutions to the electorate. Another hallmark of populists is the insistence to the voters that someone else is the problem for their woes. There's always the demagoguery of things being unfairly taken away from you, and only the great leader can right that wrong. So tell me exactly how Bernie and Trump are different? Yet you believe one, and not the other. Who's the greater fool?
