DC Tom Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Oops, you're right. Cross that site off my reading list. You're not an idiot. See how easy this is, people? Just admit when you're wrong, and that's the end of it.
Ozymandius Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I could still be an idiot but it should hopefully never be from thinking I am perfect
truth on hold Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Nobody is underestimating the palatable anger and frustration in this country. What's confounding the folks you mention is that the people who are supposedly angry and frustrated are turning to the least qualified man on the roster to lead them. It's like starting Boobie ahead of Shady, because Boobie has a cooler name and does better behind the scenes videos on the Bills website. All hail the Boobie. Who are all the more qualified repube candidates, and why?
BuffaloBillsForever Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Who are all the more qualified repube candidates, and why? From an outsider looking in Trump is the most qualified in terms of economy and securing safety for the American people. In today's extreme PC movement it is a radical idea now to put the safety and financial security as a first priority for the people legally living in said country.
GG Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Who are all the more qualified repube candidates, and why? In the GOP field, every other candidate, other than Carson, is more qualified than Trump. I thought that people would have recognized over the last seven years that POTUS isn't an apprenticeship.
3rdnlng Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 From an outsider looking in Trump is the most qualified in terms of economy and securing safety for the American people. In today's extreme PC movement it is a radical idea now to put the safety and financial security as a first priority for the people legally living in said country. The most qualified from the ranks of politicians usually would be a former governor. The question is what are their convictions and what kind of leadership can they provide? While Trump might be the most qualified for the economy there is nothing to indicate that he is the most qualified in securing our safety. You are confusing qualifications with conviction or principle. While I find it very difficult to see myself voting for Trump what choice would I have if Clinton or Bernie gets the nomination?
Observer Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) From an outsider looking in Trump is the most qualified in terms of economy and securing safety for the American people. In today's extreme PC movement it is a radical idea now to put the safety and financial security as a first priority for the people legally living in said country. Trump has zero specific plan of substance on the economy. And his "securing safety" specifics involve building a 2000 mile wall (should be simple enough) and banning people of a religious faith (no issues there). Trump is as close to the antichrist as we've ever had in the US and people here would vote for him. I weep. While Trump might be the most qualified for the economy there is nothing to indicate that he is the most qualified in securing our safety. You are confusing qualifications with conviction or principle. While I find it very difficult to see myself voting for Trump what choice would I have if Clinton or Bernie gets the nomination? I see no evidence of this. I just know he made money in real estate. He has not shown any grasp of economic issues. There's a substantial difference. And I feel you on Trump vs Clinton. Given that choice, I choose Clinton 10 out of 10 times. She's awful but literally just more of the same (which is bad enough). Trump could end the country. Bernie is a mess ideologically but at least he's not evil. I don't think he'd get 5% of his agenda accomplished but he would do little harm. He'd be a less effective Jimmy Carter. And here I thought Ted Cruz was going to be the craziest GOP candidate. I'd take Ted Cruz every day over Trump. I still see this as Rubio, Bush, Christie and Cruz. Trump will fall quickly when others drop out of the race. The 70% of GOP voter split between all the other candidates are not going to break for Trump. They will break for others. And I am faithful that the Americans giving polling data now wouldn't pull the lever for this madman. Edited December 10, 2015 by Observer

I try to follow the presidential election as best I can, but I didn’t hear about this story. Fiorina fired 30,000 people, where’s she on the evil meter? and Trump beats Hillary in the evil department? Really???? I guess I'm just not getting how you arrive at these conclusions given that you think these two are more pure than Trump.

Is he going to invest in a mutual fund earning beta like he should have his whole life?
GG Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Economy? Why? Because Trump said he's worth $10 billion.
meazza Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Because Trump said he's worth $10 billion. I told the Ferrari dealer I'm worth 20 million but they still won't let me go for a test drive.
birdog1960 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Calling you an idiot for citing such a poll is entirely accurate when you have absolutely no insight into the adjustments that were made to it. It used to be sad that I had to spoon-feed common sense to you. Now it's just par for the course. and you have absolutely no insight that appropriate adjustments were not. the p[iece and pending paper i cited are a couple years old. odds are better than even the folks doing the poll, unlike you, read the paper. bloomberg is a reputable source known for reliable data. it's more likely than not that they made the necessary adjustments. just because you arrogantly and without foundation assume that they did not, does not make it less likely. i'm thinking you and par are not well acquainted. it's clear that you and sense are not. birdog1960 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) wapo has done a nice job analyzing trumps strategy: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/its-not-chaos-its-trumps-campaign-strategy/2015/12/09/9005a5be-9d68-11e5-8728-1af6af208198_story.html seems about right to me. just sad that it sells to so many rubes. he truly is the lowest common denominator. I find it hard to believe that he would be as bad as Obama though. Don't mistake this for my endorsement of him. So you would vote for Clinton 10 out of 10 times? You must be a democrat from Philadelphia.
DC Tom Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 and you have absolutely no insight that appropriate adjustments were not. Exactly. That makes the poll useless, because IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ADJUSTMENTS

birdog1960 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Exactly. That makes the poll useless, because IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ADJUSTMENTS you can write it on an entire page. bullying isn't an effective argument style (to smart people) even if you are imitating trump. so, i'll break down the argument for you: 1.the poll was an opt in internet study 2. the poll aimed to measure opinion on trump 3. opt in internet studies can be as effective as traditional polling therefore this poll can be effective in measuring opinion on trump your conclusion was that the poll was unable to measure opinion on trump. of course, you were unaware of premise #3. now you are aware and still reject the logical conclusion. Tiberius Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/dec/10/donald-trump-promises-mandate-death-penalty-those-/ Donald Trump vowed on Thursday to issue an executive order mandating the death penalty for anyone who kills a police officer. Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, made the promise while speaking in Portsmouth, New Hampshire alongside the New England Police Benevolent Association, which announced its endorsement of Mr. Trump at the event.
