Rayzer32 Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 The NCAA is going to experiment with the instant replay for the first time in history tomorrow during the Syracuse/Purdue game. The only problem I have with this is the games already take close to 4 hours to play. This will just slow them down more. Although watching football for 5 hours straight is not a bad thing. I also see The Orange getting roughed up.
Ned Flanders Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Agree completly...the Big Eleven will soon be looking at four hour games as the norm...not a good thing.
BuffOrange Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 I never understood the time argument. The average game is 3 hours, so if you're going to invest that kind of time to watch, what's another 5-10 minutes to get the calls right? Of course in the case of the NFL, the refs are still too incompetent to get the calls right in slow motion, so that theory doesn't apply. Much like communism, it's a good idea in theory though.
/dev/null Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Wisconson/UCF game had a couple replays earlier. can't say i was impressed
R. Rich Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Michigan-Miami of Ohio had one that almost was reviewed. Of course, there were a couple really bad no calls I saw in that one.
