Dr. Fong Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Congratulations NHL and NHLPA you've killed your league.
bills_fan Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Way to go fuggggin Bettman. Assclown should never have been commish.
BRH Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 A big fat :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: to everyone connected with this fiasco.

kasper13 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Bettman is now talking about money that will never be there again. He's as stupid as the players. Screw all of them.

Zamboni Man Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Bettman said that the deal is off the table, and they don't know what revenues will be there now. Also said that they're going to have to work with fans as far as ticket prices are concerned. Thank you Dr. Obvious, ticket prices for the NHL are more expensive than the NFL, gee I wonder why there's mass apathy towards the NHL and now the NHL lockout.
Larry Playfair Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 the players union is not strong enough, and the league is not strong enough, for the nhlpa to make the demands they did. they should have taken what they could get and played for 5 years, gotten the league healthy again. then you can demand the cap be moved up.
loadofmularkey Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 I was one of the few who still held out hope especially after yesterday's news. Even as Bettman was walking to the podium at 1:01, I was thinking to myself, "Maybe he's going to say they worked out a last-minute deal." Yeah right. Once again, a big grand, phenomenal, one-of-a-kind, extra special with cherries and whipped cream on top :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: to Mr. Goodenow, Mr. Saskin, Mr. Linden, Mr. Bettman, Mr. Daly, and the rest of the jerks involved in this process. Throw Peca and McKee in there for good measure.

I work within walking distance of the Thrashers and I rarely fork over the $$ needed to go to a game...
MadBuffaloDisease Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Salary cap WITH linkage and open books. Follow the NFL's model. There's no other way to do it.
KD in CA Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Tell the NHLPA how you feel. 241850 Somehow I doubt I'll be getting a reply to the message I wrote.....
Zamboni Man Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Somehow I doubt I'll be getting a reply to the message I wrote..... I'm sure you're not the only one who will get a reply along the lines of "do you kiss your mother with that mouth?"
loadofmularkey Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 Somehow I doubt I'll be getting a reply to the message I wrote..... 241877 You and me both. My message to that wonderful union may have involved a word that starts with an "F" and rhymes with "duck" and a word that starts with "A" and rhymes with "sassoles".
loadofmularkey Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 The thing that ticks me off about sending a message to the NHLPA website is that the only eyes it will reach will be those of the webmaster.
Corp000085 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Well, i've said it all along... I will be (and am now) very upset that the season is cancelled... However, the longer this goes, the more kinks are worked out between the NHL and the NHLPA. The agreement has been a mess since 1994, and i say, take as long as necessary to fix it. Do not sacrifice the quality of the agreement for the schedule. I'm pissed, but in 10 years, i'll be greatful that i missed NHL hockey in june of 2005.
