Mr. WEO Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 A bunch of overrated coaches, starting at the top. Rex remains clueless. He blitzes the hell out of Brady but decides Smith should get a pass. The play calling is very questionable as are the challenges. The special teams are far from special. Watkins is going nuts in the first half so it's decided he needs a break in the second half. You have a weak place kicker who can't get the ball near the end zone and misses extra and a so called specialist, taking up a roster spot, whose kicks are frequently being returned. One could go on and on. Someone please send this thread to Mr. Pegula. I think it was The Mrs. that hired him.
BuffaloFan68 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Shoot, if we're giving Rex a 2nd chance at HC, we might as well as give Shwartz a 2nd chance too.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 If the HC and the OC aren't watching the result of a critical play they just called, then they don't belong on the sideline. The late call of incomplete pass should have prompted BOTH of them to question the call, just like you and I and everyone else did right away. That is patently false. You don't at all know what these guys are doing, and especially watching. They don't watch the plays like you and I. They are often watching other things and a lot of times if you are a defensive coach you are not watching the offense at all certain times. I have no idea what Rex was or wasn't watching and neither do you and a lot of times all kinds of coaches are not watching the ball. Rex lost this game for us IMO. He was terrible. It just wasn't the challenges unless we know more information. I heard his press conference. I think it was The Mrs. that hired him. That's stupid. Just stupid. Especially if you actually listened to her explain how it happened.

None the less, Rex is in charge of setting up the system in place for challenging the plays. That system is failing.
Fixxxer Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 This is really the nut of it. The team is a perfect reflection of its head coach: brash, loud, undisciplined, stupid, and constantly losing focus. Today was a microcosm of the season, which was a microcosm of Rex's career. His teams are talented but lack the discipline and attention to detail that is required to become elite. I was in favor of the hire because I really hoped that Rex would learn from his mistakes in New Jersey and would thrive under a more stable ownership and GM situation. But the freedom has actually brought out the worst of Rex - no one is stopping him from destroying himself. Rex is responsible for deciding who to put in charge of the challenges and replays. He's responsible for not firing his ST coach or cutting his kicker and finding a better one. Rex is hanging himself and this will be his last head coaching job, just like he said it would, but it will end next year. That was my hope as well. So far, not good enough.
26TrapDraw Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Well gents. 16 seasons and counting. Thanks for being as loyal as I am to this joke of a team. Maybe next year. Catch ya later boys.

That's ridiculous. you're saying no one on the sideline coaching staff thought there was anything questionable about that play...and that no even Roman was watching? There is nothing normal or acceptable about that, no matter how you spin it.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 None the less, Rex is in charge of setting up the system in place for challenging the plays. That system is failing.Maybe. According to him the guy in the booth didn't get the same replays. I think that is just a lie, covering for the guy. Who knows. It's really a pet peeve of mine. We don't know what replays were shown on the big screen and at what time. The last timeout that Rex didn't use for the Hogan play proved to be the difference from the Bills getting the ball back (he ended up having to use it on the TT run at the end). I understand the buck stops here concept. I just thinks fans as a whole don't understand how it works or what is said and when. It clearly didn't work today. Rex needed better info. He was awful anyway. That's ridiculous. you're saying no one on the sideline coaching staff thought there was anything questionable about that play...and that no even Roman was watching? There is nothing normal or acceptable about that, no matter how you spin it. I didn't say that at all. In any way.
Georgia Bill Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Rex said in his presser a couple weeks back (inadvertantly I assume) "We have to play smarter than we are". Unfortunately since that is not possible, we probably need a coach that is smarter than you are.

Rico Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I fully supported the Rex hire, but I have to admit it's not looking good right now. Gotta wonder where this team would be right now if Marrone, Schwartz, and Polian were here.
HuSeYiN_NYC Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Rex brought in the scouting staff? HUH? Rex AND the scouting department then? Better? Either way dude, Rex owns up to having a say in picking Darby in the draft and everyone knew his man crush for Tyrod. On that note, I thank him and am looking forward to moving on (in 3 years) (hopefully less than that)
Kelly the Dog Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 You think the guys in the booth just look out the window at the jumbotron for the replay, not at a freaking TV set? No. Like I said, I think Rex is lying. I think they see better and more replays than we do. And they blew it. Or perhaps they just were not forceful enough about it and Rex blew it. To me, both of the bad calls were blatant and the guys in the booth should have said throw the damn flag.
stony Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 You think the guys in the booth just look out the window at the jumbotron for the replay, not at a freaking TV set? I always assumed that their feed is similar to the jumbotron. I have no idea what they look at. Curious if anybody does here???
Dragonborn10 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Blow it up. They all need to go. Get rid of Whaley and let the new GM bring in a new HC. Whaley has been part of the decision to hire Marrone and Rex. They are both failures. He let Rex get rid of Schwartz. Whaley has been an epic fail at drafting linemen. He does a decent job of evaluating the talent here when deciding to keep or not. Time for a whole new team. These guys will all get hired somewhere else so they won't be eating their entire contracts.

Also sad if it came down to the moron behind Rex telling him to pass on the challenge.
CountDorkula Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 So stupid Hey, he is still "entertaining" right? I wonder what he will be up to next week???
