Bubba Gump Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 This guy will be a frachise kicker for 15-20 years. I think he is worth a high pick.
YoloinOhio Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Been saying that since his freshman year. He's the next janikowski.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 It's against the rules to draft a kicker
Augie Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 It's against the rules to draft a kicker Darn, he'll join the Pats***.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Darn, he'll join the Pats***. cool then we will pick up Ghostkowski
BarleyNY Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 This guy will be a frachise kicker for 15-20 years. I think he is worth a high pick. Define "high pick".
MattM Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Define "high pick". The commentators predicted 1st round.
BetterNextYearRight? Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 4th. But the Jags did take a punter in the third round (Anger) a few years back. So I'm sure some team might go for him in the mid third as well
FloridaSnow Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 4th. But the Jags did take a punter in the third round (Anger) a few years back. So I'm sure some team might go for him in the mid third as well Against conventional wisdom, but given the importance of field goals and the extended extra points, a 3rd round pick makes sense if you're getting a great franchise kicker.
BarleyNY Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 The commentators predicted 1st round. F that.
Blokestradamus Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Genuinely think that he's well worth a draft pick as early as the 3rd. I don't see him failing at all. Given my fascination with kickoffs and touchbacks though, I'd rather use a late round pick on Ka'imi Fairbairn from UCLA. 20 of 22 this year, perfect on XP's and has a touchback rate of 73.33% this year (55 of 75). I know I'm a nerd.
CSBill Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 If you can get a money kicker who can put a huge majority of his kick-offs through the end zone, hits 90% of his film goals, and has a 60 yard leg, then yes!!!! …. Considering how valuable a great kicker can be to a team (points, field position, etc.), he is well worth a high round pick. I'd go as high as end of the 1st, or certainly 2nd, round with a "can't miss" (literally and figuratively) kicker.
Saxum Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 He will probably go play MLS, he started his career playing soccer before he moved over to football. http://www.seminoles.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209572971 College is not a career unless you are going to be a professor or work in computer center, as a coach, etc.
vincec Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 No. Kickers are the kind of thing you pick up at the checkout line, not with a high draft pick.

The NFL.

TheFunPolice Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 kickers are more valuable than ever now. It's bound to happen soon: you are down 7. 2 minutes to go. You drive down and score. And the kicker misses the XP. It is coming. Hopefully to New England*
Dopey Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) We signed his younger brother to replace him. Word is he's even better than Roberto. Also, Roberto is still a jr. Edited November 29, 2015 by Dopey
KD in CA Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Fortunately the Bills wisely invested a 7th round pick a couple years ago on a franchise kicker for years to come. He's only missed one kick all season!
