BillsFan-4-Ever Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) Yes. And he sucks at that. and that is why he is a backup. The D played very well so the one or two "blunders" are magnified. 20 points the lowest output by the Putz so far this season. Two 27, one 28, four in the 30's and 2 above 40. 26CornerBlitz Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 @ChrisBrownBills Rex- I made mistake of trying to tie in def. principles of what worked for this D last yr, early in yr. Monday is what our D will be. #Bills

I was so glad to see most of the defenders chip at the LOS and not stand 5 yards back of the LOS.
peterpan Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Yes. The scheme seems to be setting in and feeling more natural for the players. Should only improve over time as well, communication still needs to improve though. With Mario and KW out the last few weeks the d has gotten better. Weird ??
3rdand12 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 With Mario and KW out the last few weeks the d has gotten better. Weird ?? I know. those guys are missing all the fun! can someone please solve the Duke Williams problem. Why hasn't D.Henderson fixed him yet. He sure cannot be left alone to do any coverage work. A safety who needs safety help! WTF is that?
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Repeat the same game plan for Alex Smith that worked oh so well on Tainted Tom and the Bills get the W guaranteed.

He did a terrible job of meshing one gap, pass rushing personnel within his system and it cost them games. Blaming it on trying to carryover some of last years defense.........

Blaming it on trying to carryover some of last years defense......... Whatever he did for whatever reason at whatever time, it was pretty wrong. Again, this was the first game that he just played his defense that we have been seeing for 10 years with all kinds of looks and guys at the LOS and press coverage at the same time. The game plan for the first NE was the worst idea ever. lol.

The fronts and the coverages were different and there was utter confusion. His rep for acumen as a game planner took a big hit this year, IMO. As Dave has said......there is a difference between tactics and strategy. Rex is all tactics on D. Sometimes it worky.......sometimes it no worky. The fact that Pettine got more out of less speaks volumes about Rex inability to adapt. What Rex really needs to do is work on becoming a better head coach instead of trying to prove that his system is superior to having a flexible defense that can put the talent on hand in the best position to succeed. Nihilarian Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 @Buccigross: Tom Brady was pressured (hit, sack, or duress) on 20 of his 40 dropbacks Monday, his most in a game in the past 7 seasons #espnstats Damn right! Why did it take 10 games? This is what I've been talking about since that week two debacle when Ryan used a soft cover scheme instead of a heavy rush. The team also looks like it fixed the penalty problem that plagued the team for 8 games. Now, if they can only figure out a way to get Sammy 10+ touches a game! Have Tyrod Taylor start throwing over the middle! Get the special teams coverage & kick off / return units to start playing as well as the kickers.
