So any advice for someone coming from Buffalo to NYC for a couple days over the summer, where to stay and where is this Bills Backer Bar there? I have to go...

Probably going around July 9th forthe Old Timers Yankees game...

$100 to $150 a night is fine....

For that rate, you should be able to find an assortment of available subway grates to sleep on. :D

Seriously....try one of the on-line travel sites for hotels.

150 per night is not very much for NYC.

200 to 250 is more reasonable, and there are lots of choices.

I would check out the Comfort Inn Midtown on 47th (i think). It's just out of Times Square. I',m staying there next Tues night for $100.

Check out tripadvisor.com for New York hotel reviews. The Comfort Inn Midtown was the only one that had really positive reviews only. Only saw one negative review (and it was something about the staff not smiling.)

Good luck.

I highly recommend hotwire.com to find a hotel. Make a regular reservation somewhere now and then a month before you go check hotwire for good deals. You will probably find a 4* hotel for $130 or so at that point - if it's a better deal than your reservation you can grab it.

This may not get you much in Manhattan. Are you driving?

If so, you might want to try long Island. You can drive (or take public transportation) to the ballpark, and you will be near some nice beaches.

I disagree - as long as you look around you should have no trouble finding a decent hotel for $150.

Hoboken...

watch what you say about Hoboken....
