IDBillzFan Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Mods, please...y'know...try to leave this here a bit before dooming it to the consumer dungeon. Looking for suggestions/recommendations/warnings on cellphone insurance beyond what is offered by the carrier. It's strikes me as a crappy idea to spend $168 to deal with a $200 smartphone deductible for a refurbished 'next best option' phone. There has to be a better way. Contemplating Squaretrade, and checking on a personal articles policy, but if you have found a better way, I'd sure like to hear about it.
Chilly Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 (edited) I agree that it's a crappy idea. The good news is you can get mid-range Android phones for about the same price, and you only pay for it if you actually use it. The Nexus 5X is $379, for example. In addition, you can also always buy a used phone off eBay to get you buy until the new contract.
