The Thursday Night package is up for grabs and, coming off the Jags/Bills streaming experiment, the NFL is considering a separate "over-the-top" package for Yahoo. They would have worldwide streaming rights on top of the a regular TV package.

Pretty much. I'm kind of surprised the NFL hasn't made the Superbowl or playoffs for that matter a pay per view event yet.

Yahoo: We want to stream more games.

NFL: Will you pay us a ton of money?

Yahoo: Yes.

NFL: Will this affect the ability to watch... never mind, who cares. Deal.

I'm guessing they're still satisfied with the $4.5M 30 second ad price..

It's a matter of time before the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. Greed will eventually kill the golden goose.

I don't consider growing your business greed. It's simply understanding and expanding the market.

Why should it be free? The NFL's content is going to cost something and ultimately that money is paid out equally among each of the 32 franchises. This in large part allows teams like Buffalo to remain competitive by getting a 200M+ check every year.

I watch the Sabres through a streaming app. Why not the Bills?

Commercials make more money.

NFL has a ticket app.

Ask boxing how that has worked for them. There was a time when everyone watched and talked about the big fight, now it is a niche sport.

I already pay a significant price for my game pass subscription but I consider it good value as a UK based fan to get every game available.

I suppose it is suckers like me they depend on

I am thinking doing so would dramatically reduce the game package pricing they get from the Networks. Football is the top show everyone watches and the Networks need those Playoff Sundays (and Saturdays!)
