unbillievable
So I'm sure you've all seen this around the internet. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3456962/Woman-shares-father-s-racist-letter-Twitter-threatened-disown-having-black-boyfriend.html 'I’ll never forgive you. There’s nothing worse than a half-black': Woman shames her racist father on Twitter after he sent her letter threatening to disown her over 'disgusting' relationship with black man But wait! https://twitter.com/mrsirbatty/status/701567178609467393 It's too late. The hoax will be seen as true. Hardly anyone reads the retractions. There are still people who cite UVA and the Duke lacrosse team as examples of campus rape culture. That girl just ruined her parent's reputation forever, just to get attention.

It's not even that it's "true" or "false." It's that it's a valid anecdote, because it demonstrates the oppression minorities, even if the oppression doesn't exist in reality. Because empirical and evidentiary-based judgement deemphasizes feeling and narrative, and as a construct of Western European philosophy is oppressive to minorities. Yes, Critical Race Theory. It's shocking, when you read up on it, how much of this stupidity derives from Critical Race Theory, and the belief that western modes of thought are invalid because they're oppressive...because they're western. (Which would normally be considered a tautology...but since "tautology" is defined as part of western philosophy and rationalism, it's not recognized in Critical Race Theory...) Is there a chapter on radical feminism and false rape accusations? Sounds very similar.
