WotAGuy Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 This is silly. All the comments out of OBD this week are about how Johnson has mastered the playbook. We aren't going to outright cut Manuel for Weeden. Move along nothing to see here That's what makes it so thread-worthy! The best threads are either: a) when there is monumental news; or b) when we are just spitballin'

Saxum Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Cowgirls release Weeden. We play them next month. Weeden + playbook worth a roster spot as a backup QB? @ProFootballTalk: Cowboys release Weeden, make room for Romo https://t.co/B5JguY0Z3D Is Weeden eligible for practice squad and does the team need practice against bad QBs?
YoloinOhio Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) Is Weeden eligible for practice squad and does the team need practice against bad QBs?JJ is on the active roster - BW would be replacing him in my scenario. No he's not practice squad eligible, but is eligible for AARP. Edited November 18, 2015 by YoloinOhio
The Jokeman Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Josh Johnson should know the Harbaugh/Roman offense based on spending time with both. Give me him as an emergency QB over Weeden any day of the week.
YoloinOhio Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 @AdamSchefter: Texans claimed QB Brandon Weeden on waivers from Cowboys, as @FieldYates reported. Texans collection of Browns castoff QBs grows
NOVABillsFan Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Another QB thread where inevitably another EJ debate will break out. I think we've seen enough of the trash teams are dumping. Weeden was dumped in favor of Matt Cassel I think that says all we need to know. that is all
GunnerBill Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 No. He is bad. I'd rather take my chances with the bloke I have never seen play.

But correct. weeden aint even a decent car wreck. just bleeh Edited November 19, 2015 by 3rdand12
Saxum Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Too late - Texans sign Weeden. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25380223/texans-claim-qb-brandon-weeden-brian-hoyer-likely-out-vs-jets The good news: the Bills if lucky will see him on the field in 2.5 weeks.

Section242 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Does it really matter? Ben Roethlesberger and TJ Yates are the only backup QBs that led their team to a win this year. If your backup is playing you most likely are losing and if you are down to your 3rd stringer you have no prayer. Matt Hasselbeck
reddogblitz Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 The good news: the Bills if lucky will see him on the field in 2.5 weeks. Be careful what you ask for. Didn't work out so well for us the last time we played against him.
CSBill Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 i only mentioned it because of the knowledge of Cowboys offense. That's my point - it doesn't matter between Johnson or Weeden as 3rd QB except one knows their offense and one doesn't. have the seen the Cowboys offense lately? I wouldn't want any of my players around that. But then again, if we did sign him, we take care of our "who will be the captain this week" dilemma.
