Kelly the Dog
It is real simple. Tyrod has a wrist band with the plays 1-20 on it. Flash him the number of fingers for the play. Like for eleven flash all fingers and than just one. The middle one. That would be for the cheats and a unsportsman like 15 yarder for us for telling them how it is. That would be our luck. Refs would miss the first ten. So maybe we cut it down to ten plays. Refs shine on Monday Night. You know how those wrist thingamajiggers with the plays on them have a flap that opens up with more plays on them? We could have one guy on the sidelines flashing numbers on his fingers to designate which play to call. And then right below him we could have our midget trainer also flashing numbers on his fingers. And the defense would never know if it was our regular guy or our midget guy who was the hot read.

Augie
We should use the same brand that Brady uses - his don't get that break during the play that the rest of the league does, but they always seem to last through the game....
Dan
I hope Pegula has a team of former CIA anti terrorism operatives ready to sweep the hotel and locker room for bugs. And maybe Tyrod can get a T-mobile sponsorship and we can implant a cell phone in his helmet instead of a radioHonestly, after everything that has come out about that team... I would absolutely sweep the locker room and hotel, and sideline for bugs. I'd also use code on the headsets, the likelihood that they they tap into the opposing team's feed is almost guaranteed. That team is entirely too good at always getting the right offensive/defensive call and matching the other team. They cheat and we all know it... Just prepare for it. Leroi
If we have issues, stop play until it is resolved. Just have the entire team and coaching staff take the field and refuse to leave until they fix their issue. Imo
The Jokeman
I know it's a bit early, but maybe just maybe we could have someone ensure the headset batteries are charging and the headsets work? Thanks in advance. Why bother? Everyone knows the Patriots jam the signals at GIlette Stadium.
Saxum
The simple solution is for the NFL to take over headsets, time clock keepers and all of the other equipment and people who can make a difference for local team as part of their cut - they will be part of the NFL staff/equipment for every game. The NFL has plenty of money and it may be a job the players can help family members get jobs as long as they are not involved in games player is in. Of course this will require more reviews of performances but the referees need more too so they could incorporate it into their planning.

dulles
Would it be possible to use two dixie cups and a long piece of string? Best suggestion yet. BillsFan-4-Ever
NFL already controls headsets and clock. The NFL, to my knowledge, doesn't supply a person to run the official time. The clock is run by some local hire.

You are right it is usually a local with college officiating experience, but the league does hire them.
