Tiberius
Rasmussen did a study http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/political_commentary/commentary_by_geoffrey_skelley/just_how_many_obama_2012_trump_2016_voters_were_there that found 13% or 8.4 million people voted for Trump in 2016 who voted for Obama in 2012. Only 2.5 million voters switched from Romney to Hillary. They cited another study that estimated about 6.7 million people voted for Trump in 2016 that voted for Obama in 2012. Those range of numbers were big enough to swing the election in the rust belt states. I said Trump is a phony populist before and still believe that as everything he's done up to this point confirms it, but he made the better sell to white blue collar workers that also bought Obama's rhetoric in 2012. I don't see how you can argue that the same people who voted for Trump that also voted for Obama are racist. Maybe Obama should of went after the big banks and Wall Street harder. Maybe Bill Clinton shouldn't have formed NAFTA sticking the knives in the backs of organized labor and accelerating the pace of manufacturing jobs going to other countries. Maybe Hillary shouldn't of given paid Goldman Sachs speeches and based her entire campaign around simply attacking Trump and having Madeline Albright say women who don't vote for Hillary Clinton are going to hell. Right, even if some voters that had voted Obama before, it does not excuse the fact Trump won on whipping up hate towards immigrants. Sure, maybe some voters just thought he was being a jack azz and didn't mean he was really going to build a stupid wall, or that Mexicans were criminals, but its pretty obvious many did. This whole wall street thing you are bringing up is a false narrative. As I said, if that was the reason they were supporting Trump, he would have zero support now. He is hanging on with his hateful appeal to prejudice. Pardoning Arpaio is proof of that.
Tiberius
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked President Trump on Thursday to tweet that DREAMers should not be worried about being deported in the next six months, a Democratic aide told The Daily Beast. Pelosi told her colleagues at a whip meeting this morning that she spoke to Trump this morning via phone and asked him to tweet this to make clear DREAMers wont be subject to deportation in a six-month window, the aide said, referring to Trumps decision to end DACA, the Obama-era program that shields DREAMers from deportation. Later Thursday morning, Trump tweeted: For all of those (DACA) that are concerned about your status during the 6 month period, you have nothing to worry aboutNo action! http://www.thedailybeast.com/pelosi-told-trump-to-tweet-dont-worry-dreamers He is listening to a real Congressional leader, not boy blunder Ryan

B-Man
NY Sheriff tells governor he can keep his executive orders to himself Yesterday New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order barring law enforcement officials from inquiring about the citizenship status of suspects during investigations. It would also apply to other state agencies outside of law enforcement in most cases. In other words, rather than just refusing to cooperate with ICE when they seek to deport illegal aliens, Cuomo is raising the bar and basically pretending that we don’t even have any immigration laws. While I’m sure there were plenty of Social Justice Warriors in New York City cheering the announcement, it didn’t go over so well with everyone. That includes Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard. While most of Cuomo’s liberal base is found in New York City and the lower Hudson Valley, Erie County is in the furthest northwestern corner of the state, including the City of Buffalo. The Sheriff had a few things to say about the executive order and he made those feelings clear when he told his troops to ignore the Governor and keep enforcing the law as usual. This is a great way to turn Americans, who mostly support DACA as a legislative solution, against it.

Tiberius
Quote On Monday, as the Department of Homeland Security prepared to extend the residency permits of tens of thousands of Honduran immigrants living in the United States, White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly called Acting Secretary Elaine Duke to pressure her to expel them, according to current and former administration officials. Duke refused to reverse her decision and was angered by what she felt was a politically driven intrusion by Kelly and Tom Bossert, the White House homeland security adviser, who also called her about the matter, according to officials with knowledge of Monday’s events, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/white-house-chief-of-staff-tried-to-pressure-acting-dhs-secretary-to-expel-thousands-of-hondurans-officials-say/2017/11/09/914d3700-c54a-11e7-a441-3a768c8586f1_story.html?hpid=hp_no-name_no-name%3Apage%2Fbreaking-news-bar&tid=a_breakingnews&utm_term=.e3c583a3df5f I guess Kelly hates the changing demographics of the country. 3rdnlng
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/dollar110m-lawsuit-hits-brentwood-ny-school-district-in-ms-13-murder/ar-BBGD5s7?li=BBnbfcL&ocid=HPCOMMDHP15 Long Island, New York school officials knew MS-13 gang members were tormenting a high school student and had threatened her life — but they did nothing, according to the $110 million lawsuit filed by the dead girl’s mother. For two years, Kayla Cuevas allegedly suffered through misery including taunting, spitting and having her pants pulled in school hallways by students who were known MS-13 gang members. Yet Brentwood School District officials “refused to take action to rectify the problem of bullying,” according to the Brooklyn federal lawsuit Evelyn Rodriguez filed Monday. Rodriguez said the negligence went even further. Rodriguez said she and her 16-year-old daughter relayed death threats — throat-slicing gestures — in September 2016, and the school didn’t act on it. Days later, Kayla and her friend, Nisa Mickens, 15, were beaten to death. Four reputed gangbangers have since been federally charged in the double homicide. “My daughter was bullied for two years at the hands of MS-13 at the Brentwood High School, and the administration failed to protect my daughter,” Rodriguez told the Daily News on Monday. “It is time that they be held accountable for their neglect.” Last week, Suffolk County police arrested five people linked to MS-13 on an attempted kidnapping. Four of those suspects were Brentwood High School students. Rodriguez said the recent incident “proves once again that the school is not taking the measures necessary to protect its students, they are in denial that they have a gang problem.” Marjorie Coello, one of Rodriguez’s lawyers, said the district violated laws meant to protect students and get them a proper education. “Hopefully, the district will do the right thing and take responsibility for its actions or lack thereof,” Coello said. The lawsuit said the bullying started in the 2014-2015 school year, when Cuevas was a freshman — and it happened on school grounds, too. At the start of the 2016-2017 school year, the suit said the school “assured” Cuevas, then a junior, that one unidentified student wouldn’t be at Ross High School. The unidentified student previously pulled a knife on her. Yet on the first day of school, the student was there. Cuevas told school administrators, but they said the youth wasn’t on the premises. The next day, the student and others allegedly made a throat-slicing gesture. Cuevas and her mom told the school that the chilling motion was caught on the school’s video surveillance. The district maintained the student wasn’t on-site, insisted there was no gesture and didn’t tell authorities, Rodriguez said. Five days later, Cuevas was on school grounds when she was chased off “and brutally mutilated and murdered.” A Brentwood school district spokesman declined to comment Monday on the lawsuit. The same day Rodriguez filed her case, the four accused murderers were in court with others who are charged in a racketeering case covering various sorts of gang murders and crimes. The four are Alexi (Big Homie) Saenz, 22, his brother Jairo (Funny) Saenz, 21, along with Selvin (Flash) Chavez, 19, and Enrique (Turkey) Portillo, 19. On Monday, Judge Joseph Bianco divided the sprawling set of defendants into trial groups and scheduled a May 2018 trial date for two men on unrelated charges.
