26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 WTH? Might as well finish driving the car in the ditch. CFL here we come! Whooppee!
Nanker Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Shortcut to Shitsville fo sure! Good luck Johnny Fieldgoal.

papazoid Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 manziel is NOT their best QB but it's the right decision. at 2-8 the season is over. need to find out what you spent a first round pick on.
VanCity Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 If your QB of the present is a dud ( McCown) and your Intended QB of the future shows 2 flashes mixed in with horrific play every game he plays, I guess you just say "screw it" and go with the guy with the better nickname?
Big C Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 To think they could have taken Bridgewater or Carr instead...
Kelly the Dog Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 This is a smart move by Pettine and maybe the only thing that can save his job. They just aren't going to win with McCown, and the only chance they have for hope for next season is if somehow Johnny Fieldgoal catches fire. It isn't likely to happen but it's the only chance to salvage this season and have hope for the future. I thought he played pretty well although had a couple of terrible plays.

But they might as well let him show once and for all that he's not an NFL caliber QB with any kind of sustainable success in his future.

He could suck out loud and folks could still argue he doesn't have a team around him.

But what's probably going to happen is the EJ syndrome. He will show just enough to make a substantial amount of fans and players and coaches and management believe he still needs more time or another season to know for sure, before it's a failed experiment.
Chuck Wagon Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 To think they could have taken Bridgewater or Carr instead... They could have gotten Sammy or Kahlil Mack (or Evans or ODB) / Bridgewater or Carr / Bitonio. But hey, at least they got Cam Erving.....

fridge Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 That was probably the designed play, right? I'm sure he can sustain that and lead his team to a superbowl win just like Michael Vick did.
