Big Turk Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Schopp yesterday, after the rumors of Rob being fired were swirling but the Saints had denied it so far, asked Rex what he thought about it. Rex, in his inimitable style, said something to the effect of, "Well, my defenses have never been that bad. Just kidding... Not really, mine have never been that bad." Shopp and Bulldog couldn't stop laughing. It was pretty funny. He was telling the truth as I posted about right above you...the current Bills defense is far and away the worst Rex has had, although I think its starting to round into shape and will likely start having much more consistent performances down the back half of the schedule. We're right in the middle of the pack in most regards, higher in some, lower in others, but middle of the pack on average.
Big Turk Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 We're right in the middle of the pack in most regards, higher in some, lower in others, but middle of the pack on average. The only season any other Rex's defense finished outside of the top 10 they were 11th...
BarleyNY Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 That is my question actually? I dont know anything about Rob Ryan's pedigree They both put a lot of pressure on the CBs, but Rob really takes that to the extreme. Those CBs are on islands in man coverage. And if it's not working he leaves them there. Totally inflexible. Rex does it a lot too, but not like that.

I heard that and it was really funny. This is Rex's worst ever defense. I saw progress last week... the next two are tests - not can we beat NE - we likely won't but can we at least compete against their offense and then KC which is a game we just HAVE to have.
reddogblitz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Rob being fired twice makes me skeptical of the Rex defense now Twice? Rob has been fired at least 4 times that I know of. Oakland, Cleveland, Dallas, and now NO. Probably a few others I just don't know about.
YoloinOhio Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 @TyDunne: Rex on his brother Rob: Says it's the business and that he hasn't thought about bringing him on the staff.

26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 @viccarucci Rex Ryan says he would "never say never" about adding twin brother Rob to #Bills coaching staff. "Not going to lie, it would be fun."

Canadian Bills Fan Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Oh man.... Why would you add this guy? What value would he bring to the Bills? CBF
26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Oh man.... Why would you add this guy? What value would he bring to the Bills? CBF Good questions. More yelling and demonstrative outbursts. Beyond that, I'm not sure.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 He might lose a few pounds if he came to Buffalo because of the food. That's about the only advantage I can think of.

26CornerBlitz Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 @MatthewFairburn Would Buffalo Bills' Rex Ryan consider hiring his recently fired brother Rob Ryan? http://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2015/11/would_buffalo_bills_rex_ryan_consider_hiring_his_recently_fired_brother_rob_ryan.html
Solomon Grundy Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I say DO IT!! Who wouldn't want to work with their brother? Better yet, who wouldn't want to be their brother's boss??

K D Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Rex might be the only person that will hire Rob at this point. Getting fired from 2 jobs in a row and coordinating one of the worst defenses in NFL history in NO. Jeff Weeks + Rob + Rex and this place will be like a frat house
