Malazan
Cassel has looked like he shouldn't be playing. I live in texas and one Cowboy fan put it in perspective: "I am so envious right now that the Eagles have Sanchez as their backup"
K D
Cassel stinks but EJ is other worldly bad and single handedly cost us the Jags game. We would have won with Cassel. Heck, we would have won with Jeff Tuel! We probably would have won with Rex at QB handing it off every play. That game is going to haunt us

Say he only give up 1 TDs vs the Jags, he very likely couldn't have dug himself out of that hole. SIX POINTS against the freaking BUCS!
Jobot
This is seriously the most idiotic thread. I bet this guy also used to think that EJ should have been the starter going into the year

1st Ammendment NoMas
Sorry but what part of FRED is better than BOOBIE are you not understanding. I never said take Fred over Karlos. I said it would have been better not to cut him. I think Fred as a #3 would have had fresh legs when Karlos AND Shady went down and we would not have had Boobie wreck the Giants game. I think a fresh Freddie runs for 80-100 yds and picks up a TD or 2. I also think Fred is a great locker room presence and helps keep the young guys focused. Boobie was a drive killer and EJ could not sustain either. I think a cooler level headed offense with Fred filling in and Cassel playing conservative would have yielded at least 1 more win WITHOUT sacrificing the future or messing with the cap. I think it was a bad front office decision and I stand by it. We are 5-4 but could be in a much better playoff position, maybe even close enough to take the AFC East with a strong late run and the Pats hurting. Now it's wild card time but as long as we stay healthy, we may be able to make a run. Just saying.

Bruce Mathison was otherworldly bad. Todd Blackledge was otherworldy bad. Heath Shuler was otherworldly bad. Akili Smith was beyond otherworldly bad. EJ simply isn't good. Get a sense of perspective. Niagara Dude
The bottom line is EJ should be cut after the season and if Whaley does not want to do it then Pegula needs to fire him. We should draft 2 QB'S and let them groom while Taylor starts. This franchise has sucked for years because of the most important position on the field. EJ is garbage and is just good at talking a good game.
DC Grid
I can't help but think that if we kept Freddy and Matt, we'd be sitting at 7-2 right now, at worst 6-3. EJ and Boobie lost those games. With Freddie in the mix, he is fresh against the Giants and Jags and carries us through plus Matty doesn't make those bonehead EJ mistakes. For all the good Whaley has done, this one is on him. Should never have cut Fred and traded Cassel. You must not have seen Cassel play football this year. If you had this statement would be seen as insane. The Real Buffalo Joe
If Cassell is traveling on a train to Dallas at 75 MPH, and Jackson is on a train to Seattle at 80 MPH, How long, in minutes and seconds, will it take for the fanbase to call for the GMs head?
