1st Ammendment NoMas
I can't help but think that if we kept Freddy and Matt, we'd be sitting at 7-2 right now, at worst 6-3. EJ and Boobie lost those games. With Freddie in the mix, he is fresh against the Giants and Jags and carries us through plus Matty doesn't make those bonehead EJ mistakes. For all the good Whaley has done, this one is on him. Should never have cut Fred and traded Cassel. For all the flamers, consider this: Before Cassel was traded, it was widely reported how he was a great influence in the quarterback room. How he helped the young guys learn quicker and knew the playbook well. Even if EJ did start, could Cassel have helped him settle down and get him ready to play? Could Cassel have spotted EJ in relief or played game manager to get us through those awful 0-2 games where EJ started. Also Fred is a great locker room guy. He could have played behind Karlos and Shady in spot relief and been rested for when he was really needed. To me Freddie runs for 80+ against the Giants and has another 20-30 receiving yards and a TD or 2. He also contributes heavily against the Jags with Boobie or Wood as a change of pace. Lest we forget how good Fred is at picking up the blitz and catching the ball out of the backfield. Perhaps EJ isn't as rattled with Fred picking up the blitz and acting as a safety valve. And even though Cassel looked bad for the Cowboys, remember he had NO TIME to learn the playbook and he has no support in Dallas. Cassel knew our offense and was suited for some spot relief to be a game manager for a game or 2 while EJ was still a development guy and should be 3rd. That's my 2 cents from a die hard Bills fan for 40 years! And no I am not on coke, just pepsi. Edited November 17, 2015 by BillsRdue

26CornerBlitz
Cassel is 0-4 and played horrible. Cassel lost to the FN Tampa Bay Bucs today and put up a grand total of 1,2,3,4,5.....6 points!!! He should be so proud!
Vinaccia
Cassel couldn't even get a touchdown versus the Bucaneers. He threw an interception. I don't understand how he would be an upgrade over EJ Manuel. As far as Freddie goes, if he became an all down back he would have been injured. Cassel has looked every bit as bad as EJ did...how many games have the Cowboys won with him starting? Zero. I'm pretty sure he has thrown a pick 6 in every game too. And Freddy was a shell of his former self, who would have likely gotten injured after a few games. Edited November 16, 2015 by matter2003

Southern Bills Fan
Idiocy. If you have watched Cassel at all and known that Fred has done almost nothing this year then the title of this post is idiocy.
metzelaars_lives
It's way more ridiculous to think that Fred Jackson would have made a difference against the Giants than it is to think that Cassel wouldn't have lost that game against Jacksonville. Karlos Williams, who is way better than Fred Jackson, played the entire game against the Giants. As bad as Cassel has looked, I don't think he makes three turnovers in succession like that and I think they beat Jacksonville. But I'd rather have Manuel play a game next week if Taylor went down. Either way Whaley was right about both moves and I'm over the Jacksonville game. In fact, Whaley has been a pretty great GM so far. Enough of this, please. Webster Guy
Its possible that Cassel playing against the Jags would have resulted in a win, but he and Freddy are both looking like they'll be out of football next year.
Seasons1992
There are times on this board that I want to know the age of the posters. I think sometimes the youngsters live so much in the moment that they are blinded by facts and overall historical trends. Whaley is fooling you, Millennial Bills fan! Those of us old enough to remember when good GM'ing got us places knows we are in a great situation right now. I desperately wish you would have been around for the good times.
