From the outside, it looked like another classic Ryan stunt. By not making a grand entrance, he was making a grand entrance. As a horde of photographers waited by the northeast tunnel, Ryan was sequestered inside the locker room, once again leaving them to want more.

But the truth, the one that many refuse to believe about the Bills head coach to this day, was that he was thinking of his players.

All we've been hearing about being a "player's coach" is how it excuses bringing in "troublesome players" and causes discipline problems. But this article brings up something else: While the press was hounding Rex about making IK a Captain, and talking about him with a Clemson helmet on, and his twitter fuel that was less time talking about his players. They were so anxious to see him, the press lined up out of the locker room while players got ready.

Meanwhile, after the win, players called it "a gift for Rex"

This week anyway, it worked.

Good for Rex. People can trash him all they want. (like Czaban this AM) He wears his emotions on his sleeves and says what most want to say but don't.

Rex took extra time after the brief coaches handshake to hug practically every JETS player he knew. (then someone poked him in the butt and he sprinted off of the field)
