BillsFan-4-Ever Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) The writing is on the wall ..... we just don’t know what it says @BuffRumblings Rex Ryan: "EJ Manuel is our backup quarterback." http://www.buffalorumblings.com/bills-news-notes/2015/11/13/9728504/rex-ryan-ej-manuel-buffalo-bills-backup-qb-josh-johnson We should be 6-3. Thanks EJ, and happy trails. Beyond EJ's 2 games - We should have been 6-1 thanks to TT's crappier games Edited November 13, 2015 by BillsFan-4-Ever
dave mcbride Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 That explanation actually makes sense, as does using a recycled game plan on a short week. I dunno. I think the opposite - it sounds like coachspeak to me. If you think a QB is clearly better, then you don't place him behind a mid-season street free agent pickup with no resume. Placing him behind Johnson speaks volumes about their confidence in him. Manuel has been playing in this system for months and months, and presumably he can operate a game plan as well as former SF third stringer one year removed from the OC. He's likely done here. The cap hit from cutting him will be negligible this off season, right?
Nanker Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I for one will be happy to see EJ go to another team. Then maybe, maybe, just maybe we can stop reading about how terrible he is. God this is nauseating.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 @ChrisBrownBills Rex reiterates that EJ is their guy as backup QB. #Bills - Yesterday was a special circumstance.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 @ChrisBrownBills Rex reiterates that EJ is their guy as backup QB. #Bills - Yesterday was a special circumstance. So is it safe to assume that Roman's game plan for the Jets was almost identical to how he tried to attack Bowles' Defense when Roman was in SF and Bowles was in Arizona?
Captain Hindsight Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I wondered last night with all the designed QB runs, that Josh may have been more suited for that type of gameplan. It seems that may be the case But seeing him inactive last night was surprising.
NoSaint Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 You're not surprised by what, that EJ is still #2? Because Johnson knew the game plan better on the short week from being with the Niners which they rekindled. Said he probably knew it better than Taylor. That's a new one for me... But I guess on a short week it's not unbelievable
Captain Hindsight Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 So is it safe to assume that Roman's game plan for the Jets was almost identical to how he tried to attack Bowles' Defense when Roman was in SF and Bowles was in Arizona? Must be. If j have time, I'll break it down this weekend
NOVABillsFan Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 @ChrisBrownBills Rex reiterates that EJ is their guy as backup QB. #Bills - Yesterday was a special circumstance. A Rex slap in the face? We can beat you with a no name backup if Taylor goes down statement.
fansince88 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 He made so much progress folks! Give him time with the ones! LOL
BuffaloHokie13 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 A Rex slap in the face? We can beat you with a no name backup if Taylor goes down statement. Josh Johnson was a QB in Roman's system in SF where they prepared for Bowles' defense. He knew the game plan better on a short week. Really not a big deal.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 So is it safe to assume that Roman's game plan for the Jets was almost identical to how he tried to attack Bowles' Defense when Roman was in SF and Bowles was in Arizona? I think that was the case, yes. That's a new one for me... But I guess on a short week it's not unbelievable We will know by what they do in New England.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 I think that was the case, yes. We will know by what they do in New England. Rex is a very honest guy. No reason why he'd lie about this.
Kelly the Dog Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Rex is a very honest guy. No reason why he'd lie about this. Yes and no. No reason he would lie about this, and I believe him on this one. He says all kinds of stuff that are not true or what he believes in press conferences though. Usually one can tell when he is blowing smoke and when he's trying to be serious.
hondo in seattle Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Without compelling evidence that Rex is lying, I'm going to take him at his word. Rex has flaws but so far I don't think dishonesty is one of them.
QCity Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 EJ was MVP of that Pittsburgh preseason game.
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 There is a Negative Thread for all y'all to spout your EJ disgust.
Agent 91 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I for one will be happy to see EJ go to another team. Then maybe, maybe, just maybe we can stop reading about how terrible he is. God this is nauseating. Oh you didnt hear.... according to most posters... he will probably be applying to be a janitor at the local school this off season as his NFL career is over
prissythecat Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Oh you didnt hear.... according to most posters... he will probably be applying to be a janitor at the local school this off season as his NFL career is over Nah. EJ has a diploma from FSU. Am sure that amounts to something.
