eball Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 i mean, we're only talking about a veteran who can fill in if needed and provide some leadership on the sideline. chandler fits that bill. he can still throw the ball. i wouldn't mind him coming in here for a year or two as the #2.

So bad in fact that the Rams recalled Jamie Martin who stinks too. A big No Thanks!
Gavin in Va Beach Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Let me think about that. Uhhh....NO.
Albany,n.y. Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Chandler was an embarrassment this year when he played, NO!!! Mark me down in the Fiedler vote.
Puhonix Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 If your looking for an actual back up, Chandler is not the guy. He needs to retire and become a QB Coach. Him and Van Pelt are two former QBs that are great mentors for a young new QB to the NFL.
eball Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 ok, i take it back. i didn't watch him play last year. i just know he's been supportive of young QBs and willing to take a back seat over the past few years.
BRH Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 The only place I want a crystal chandelier is in my dining room.

Greg de'Ville Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 ...a "No" is marked on my ballot. Chandler's washed up.

silvermike Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 God knows we can't have a guy like that ever reach the playing field - but what about keeping him around as a minimum, #3 guy, on the theory he'll mentor JP well from the sidelines?
TigerJ Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I think Archie Manning (Peyton's dad) is younger.

IDBillzFan Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Suddenly there is an idea on the table that makes 'getting McNair as a backup' seem like a sound idea. Chandler is completely done and though he had his moments, he is the last person you want as a backup given his ability to get hurt on virtually every other play.
gantrules Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Chandler would be an awesome mentor for JP. But, I'd only get him as a 3rd stringer. And then the cost would be too high.
LabattBlue Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 This boxscore says it all. He is finished.... http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/live/NFL_20041212_STL@CAR
