If Harvard wants to teach women to take it in the ass, I'm moving to Cambridge.

It's probably more about strapping one on and teaching their boyfriends about the "great equalizer."

But yeah you do you bro.

I hadn't considered that, but you're probably right.

I do remember, a few years back, some neo-feminist movement to deny men sex until they agreed to pegging in order to teach men... something...

.....Taylor, Stand and be counted so we can criticize and intimidate accordingly!

The Liberal Cult in Action

No sooner do I note yesterday that GQ magazine has consistently disgraced itself with its choice of cover honorees (culminating in naming Colin Kaepernick its “Citizen of the Year”) than Marie Claire decided to say “Hold my beer” and offer up this tweet:

Swift-Tweet.jpeg

Now, I do not follow Taylor Swift at all, and couldn’t pick one of her tunes out of a police lineup. But I know that she is phenomenally successful, and as such the Cult of Liberalism is demanding that she throw in with the rest of the celebrity mob on behalf of liberalism, or “explain” why she didn’t. I think conformity with liberalism is in all of their union contracts. I guess the left thinks if Swift had come out forcefully against Trump (which would give a whole new meaning to Swift-boating), it would have swayed some of those dumb white voters in Wisconsin or something.

Needless to say, this ham-handedness unleashed a torrent of sarcastic abuse directed at Marie Claire and the Cult of the Left: (Multiple examples at the Link)

Fair warning for the people at Marie Claire: If you put me in a position where I find myself openly supporting Taylor Swift, I'm going to be pissed.

I've always had a grudging sort of respect for her.  She always seems to have her head relatively screwed on straight, a lot of the bull **** surrounding her seems more directed at her than generated by her (case in point: this stupid !@#$ing Marie Claire article), and she got the guy who sang "Pour some sugar on me in the name of love" to sing a teeny-bopper "The boy I sat next to in 11th grade English class broke my heart, woe is me!" song.

You've got to have some grudging measure of respect for a teenage girl who gets Joe Elliott to sing the lines "He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar/The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star/He's the song in the car/I keep singing, don't know why I do."

To be honest, I may have spoken too soon. It's been brought to my attention that Taylor Swift's music has had a positive impact on Tardigrades, which are important to at least a small segment of special needs students, and are also apparently voracious Bills fans. I mean, who knew? I certainly didn't - but in retrospect I'm not surprised at the revelation.

Still dubious.

Why?  Another name came up on this board this week and I had no clue who that person was, had never even heard the name.

So I'm quite happy about this.

Because not knowing who she is, with some degree of passing knowledge, never mind never hearing her name, isn't a believable claim.

some music thing? i couldn't identify her.

i would have zero knowledge except seeing her name in headlines on internet news sites.

i know nothing that she has done

i dropped out of Top 40 stuff around 1986.

you wanna hook me up to a lie detector with Ed Torian firing questions at me?

She's so well known as a cultural icon that not knowing who she is, is essentially an admission that you're likely not very well informed about anything at all unless you're some sort of savant.

She's won an Emmy, ten Grammys, 19 American Music Awards, 21 Billboard Music Awards, and dozens awards exclusive to country music.  She's hosted Saturday Night Live, has had acting roles on network television, had a very public dust up with Kanye West (who you've also probably never heard of) which was covered by ever single news organization on the planet.  She's a spokesmodel for Covergirl, and a very generous philanthropist.

In short, she's all over every single medium we use to communicate, and knowledge of her is virtually unavoidable if you participate in the world in any meaningful way.  Your story isn't believable.

And she's got a very nice set of funbags.
