Gordio Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Agreed. Although Brice Johnson is not human, and I see him being a very good pro as well. What a crazy game yesterday. Cuse was as good as dead. Can't see them beating Carolina the way the heels are playing right now. The problem in this game will be Cuse tends to go into offensive slumps for stretches at a time. Do that against UNC & your going to be down by 20 points in a hurry. They are not Virginia, they got guys that could fill up the basket. But with that being said Cuse is playing with house money right now & they should come in there lose with nothing to lose. Longer they keep it close the tighter UNC should get. 9.5 point dogs, I thought it would be 13 or 14. Vegas telling us something? Maybe this game will be close. Oklahoma/Nova flip a coin. That should be a great game. If the Buddy Heild show shoots like they did Saturday they could beat anybody in the country.
inkman Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 i didn't think we stood a snowballs chance against UVA, Bennett knows our 2-3 zone too well. That said, we played UNC tough this year, granted UNC has elevated their game almost exponentially lately, but this is also a very different Syracuse team out there, they seem to have dug in. Lydon & Richardson have really really really stepped up, to the point where there are nervous fans thinking they may have played their way into the nba. After yesterday's performance, I am not going to doubt Syracuse's ability to beat anyone. I hope it's a game for the ages! and as much as I dislike Nova, I would love to see a Classic "Big East" game for the championship, and I would love to see Syracuse take Ryan Arcidiacano to the woodshed, because lord knows he's taken us there a couple times. I think Malachi has had his eye on the NBA for a while. I'd be shocked if Tyler left.

My favorite was this tweet. Jeopardy! Sports @JeopardySports "What is: Syracuse University?" #JeopardySports #MarchMadness
The Poojer Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 for his sake, i hope he comes back, he's good, but I don't think he is quite ready. Next year could be a different story. I think Malachi has had his eye on the NBA for a while. I'd be shocked if Tyler left.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 for his sake, i hope he comes back, he's good, but I don't think he is quite ready. Next year could be a different story. He is gone. After his game yesterday, he has probably punched his ticket to first round status. If he plays well in the F4, there is no doubt. I am with you-- I think the smarter move would be for him to stay 2, 3 years-- but I say this about every player. The upshot is that this run is going to really help us kill it on the recruiting trail.

Johnny Hammersticks Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Nope, we are not banned from the tourney next year. Plus, we actually got scholarships back, and at present, we still have one open for 2016. I think they still have a decent shot at Taureen Thompson.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 The other interesting recruiting effect: teams like Louisville and Carolina can point to syracuse's immediate success to assuage any recruits' concerns over potential sanctions.
Beerball Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 ESPN is nuts I'd like to see where they found those odds. They opened on Bovada at 150-1 to win it all... I am sure if you were closer to Vegas you could have shopped around and found better odds however but I don't know about 300-1. Casinos/Bovada also can limit how much they allow gamblers to wager and they almost always restrict how much you can bet on something with such long odds. Dunno, they "reported" it several times on SC after the game.

Man, I sure hope you are wrong on MR. CommonCents Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Dunno, they "reported" it several times on SC after the game. Yeah I did as much research as I could after hearing that and found some wagers placed in January that exceeded that but all those were made on Cuse winning it all and made prior to the tournament selection. ESPN claims that Cuse was 300-1 to win their bracket? Heck that was 25-1 the day the tournament began on Bovada I'd love to see where they found a site or casino offering 300-1 on that! If true, I would have flown to Vegas and been part owner of that casino as of last night! I'm going to put this on ESPN just misreporting a line that was previous to the tournament selection. That seems much more likely than a casino losing their shirt by offering long odds that were 12 times the going rate.
bbb Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 It's just ESPN exaggerating as usual.............Like when they say - tickets are going for $10,000 for such and such. When they look at some crazy outlier on stubhub that isn't even an actual attempt to sell tickets at that price.
CommonCents Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) They're down to about 150-1 now. No if your going by that tweet it's 12-1. Bet 100 and you win 1200 that's what the +1200 indicates. Its based off a hundred dollar wager. Edited March 28, 2016 by Commonsense

Sucker bet. They were only allowed into the tournament in the first place because of power and influence which far exceed that of Monmouth and Bonnie both of whom had better seasons. Then they lucked out with the bracket falling apart and Virginia having a meltdown. Cause certainly deserves some credit for yesterday, I don't deny that.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 By the way, did anyone else love Kevin Harlan calling that Cuse game. Really perfect for that kind of game--- "Malachi Richardson has gone mad!!!"
The Poojer Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) even better, considering the day of the game(Easter) https://cdn.streamable.com/video/mp4/07p2.mp4 By the way, did anyone else love Kevin Harlan calling that Cuse game. The current team can't afford to lose one of those guys early. Hopefully someone talks some sense into him if that is what he is leaning towards.
bbb Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Bembry from St. Joe's would have none of the talking sense thing............He declares AND hires an agent :wallbash: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/sports/college/St-Joes-Bembry-will-enter-NBA-draft.html
