YoloinOhio Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 @JasonLaCanfora: With Tyrod Taylor returning, Bills may not keep Josh Johnson much longer. He's been in Jets system. Would make sense as a stopgap
YoloinOhio Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Why not EJ?at this point in the season, would make more sense to get a guy who has been in the system for at least some time.
TheFunPolice Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 EJ knows their system... Honest! He found an old playbook in a garbage can somewhere after Chan left here
/dev/null Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 why would the Jets trade away anything for a player who will be cut?
NoSaint Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 why would the Jets trade away anything for a player who will be cut? Because a 7 might be worth getting him a day earlier with no negotiation or competition?

Would make sense as a stopgap If anything, why wouldnt they wait and see if we cut him first? Geno's injury doesnt sound that bad so they could prolly afford to wait it out. Plus they have Petty. YoloinOhio Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 why would the Jets trade away anything for a player who will be cut?to get him on a plane ASAP? They have a game in 6 daysIf anything, why wouldnt they wait and see if we cut him first? Geno's injury doesnt sound that bad so they could prolly afford to wait it out.depends on how bad it is, but he's not 100% - they would need a backup. Clearly not confident in Petty or they wouldn't be trying to make a trade
apuszczalowski Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 why would the Jets trade away anything for a player who will be cut? Whos says the Bills cut him? They could keep him til wednesday (or the day after the trade deadline) and the Jets could have to find someone else who has not been in their system and knows the playbook? Chances are they don't really care cause we are talking about players the level of Street FA stop gap player who won't see the field unless theres one more injury. I'm sure if the Jets don't want to waste a 7th they could find someone just as mediocre to hold a clip board............

Can't go into a game with only one active QB on the roster

Can't go into a game with only one active QB on the roster right - I was assuming that Geno can play with his injuries like he says he can - but he's clearly banged up and he doesn't know how to slide either - it's like he initiates contact.

I could see the Bills holding back on releasing Johnson or trading him to a divisional opponent that we have two games against.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 EJ knows their system... Honest! He found an old playbook in a garbage can somewhere after Chan left here Jets all the sudden look very beatable

Augie Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Could we keep collecting castoff QB's, trade them, and eventually own the entire 7th round?
/dev/null Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Could we keep collecting castoff QB's, trade them, and eventually own the entire 7th round? I think you're on to something. Anybody got Tebow and Mallet's phone number?
