Ross Cockrell = Jabari Greer

I see this kid lasting in the NFL a while. He has been very good in Pittsburgh and this is the third game I have watched him. He doesn't seem to get lost in space in this system and can play hard press man, his strength.

Quite a nice thing to see for this Duke grad.

I saw him play at Duke and knew he had potential. Don't know why we couldn't unlock it.

cant blame Whaley for that one - thought enough of him to take in 4th. And two different coaching staffs weren't enamored. Happens a lot in the league though where guys thrive all of a sudden in different system. Edited by YoloinOhio

How are they anything alike? Greer was really good on the Bills. Basically you're saying they're both CB's who used to be on the Bills. And Cockrell has a long ways to go before he deserves to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Jabari Greer. Yes, he has made a couple plays this year. You should've just started a thread saying that you think Cockrell could be good. He has nothing to do with Jabari Greer.

Do you have any opinions that aren't as sharp as a shard of glass? Jesus man.

Where was he going to play? The Bills have 2 CBs playing excellent and are going to be getting McKelvin back. Should he have been cut? Probably not but no one was going to trade for an unknown, which he was. So he would have just rode the bench and played out his rookie contract.

Like Mario Butler? Who I think has one play on the year?

So, your saying you'd prefer Cockrell to take the handful of snaps Butler has? Does that really change anything?

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe when Robey got abused by Marvin Jones, Cockrell goes in and does something more. Maybe Robey goes down and we need another CB.

More talent is never a bad thing.

Not that I don't think he could do it but Cockrell is an outside CB, I highly doubt he takes Robeys position in the slot, mostly because of Robeys blitzing ability. With McKelvin coming back and the play of Darby thus far the Bills are looking very deep at the CB position. Butler isn't horrible either.

And yes more talent isn't bad but like I said he'd be mostly wasted the bench. Plus, what had Cockrell shown to that point?
