zow2 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 If anything good came out of this whole thing it is that Peca the douchebag has now lost two whole seasons of his career. 242095 This is true. No matter how he spins it, he will never recoup the money he lost for those two seasons and just as important, his precious Youth. It's a young man's game. Those two seasons can never be made up.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 How many star players are now going to retire, when this would have been their last season? 241873 Good, it is time to flush the old guard out.....the whiney old guard. Hopefully Schnozz Chelios has seen his last NHL game.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 20 minutes till the announcement that we will be stuck with bowling, NBA, and frigging baseball.. GodDAMNIT!!! 241728 Don't be busting on bowling now.
Alaska Darin Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Don't be busting on bowling now. 242256 Yeah, sports involving polyester get a free pass.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I have to laugh at the players.....in the last 48 hours, finally, they go with a cap.....but they still don't get a season because their cap maximum was too high. All the kvetching for what? They could have played at 40-42 million.....now the owners will put the screws to the NHLPA, and there will be a 31 million cap like Daly said back in September. The gravy train is over for the players.
LabattBlue Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 The gravy train is over for the players. 242258 Good. Maybe next time the players should insist on being more informed instead of drinking the nhlpa purple kool aid.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah, sports involving polyester get a free pass. 242257 When it comes to fan accessability, bowling is right at the top. And hell, they probably bring in as much TV revenue here in the US as the NHL did.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Time for Bob Badenow to step up to the podium...... AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! FUX0R......the players now hate me too! Sorry that I cost you guys over a billion dollars in compensation......

Chalkie Gerzowski Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Pete Weber is a bit off the wall. Badenow at the podium.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I'm not sure which of those comments made me laugh more... 242269 You're doubting the veracity of the second claim? Check out the US ratings of the fourth "major" sport sometime. Last stanley Cup pulled in like a .6 share nationally. Miniscule.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Pete Weber is a bit off the wall. Badenow at the podium. 242272 Dick Weber died yesterday

Little prick...made you want to reach through the TV and punch him. 242282 Holman!!!, BTW, the bowling and poker reruns for the 30th time are killin the ratings the NHL used to get. Maybe Bettman was to far off suggesting revenues will go down 50%
LabattBlue Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 from memory...Marshall Holman 242304 That's him....the bad boy of bowling.

Maybe Bettman was to far off suggesting revenues will go down 50% 242308 Exactly, anyone who considers hockey a "major" sport (and I love it, BTW), is deluding themselves. I saw somewhere once that BASS FISHING out-rated the NHL in the US.
