I'm making the same face as your avatar right now but I guess I get what you're saying. People don't know that edamame is a soy bean so it needs to be declared as containing soy...but I would hope that someone who is allergic to soy would know that. I'm making the same face as your avatar right now but I guess I get what you're saying. People don't know that edamame is a soy bean so it needs to be declared as containing soy...but I would hope that someone who is allergic to soy would know that. And peanut butter carries a "contains peanuts" warning. And Pop Tarts have a "Caution: pastries may be hot when heated" warning. You're assuming common sense has any relation to this.
