Stack the defense close to the line. Bump the receivers. Don't worry about the pass rush.

That offense is predicated on Brady's sub-2-second release. So forget blitzing - if you can't get there in 2 seconds, it won't matter. So rush 4, mug the receivers at the line, and put everyone else in the passing lanes.

The tried and true way of beating any quarterback, including brady, is to collapse the pocket around him and make him uncomfortable stepping into throws. Brady is the best whos ever played the game, but even he can start making inaccurate throws when hes forced to move around. Its simple really

Sitting back and playing coverage against brady is suicide by small cuts. Get him off his rhythm and you have a chance.

Outscore them. That is the only way.

It's a race to 35 with them. You'd better be prepared to think that way.

They blow everyone out anyway, so you've got nothing to lose doing something exotic and crazy.

As long as you game plan for it you play with 4 downs from your own 40 & out. Then you play call based on that thought. Risky? Sure, but, less risky than fake punts.

They run a ton of short passes. Play them tough at the line. Nobody gets a free release. Gronk gets pretty much held at the line with 2 linebackers (like pats did to Gonzalez a couple years ago). Concentrate pressure up the middle. Mix in some corner blitzes if you think you can get in unblocked

overload the middle to force them to keep a back in to help on our 2 DTs and occasional A gap blitzes. force their OTs to engage our wide DE and LB in 1:1 matchup. this should force them to flex a 2nd TE to help out. play press cover on inside shoulder of wideouts to force outside release. use non-blitzing LB and DBs to take away inside slants.

the idea is to get in Brady's face and don't let him climb the pocket when being flanked. bring pressure while taking away his short options. get to him early and often and give him no time to wait on mid to long routes. the key is taking away inside routes and making him throw to men running away from him.

Sweep the leg.

excellent JR. Just super well done !!

I can't see why teams wouldn't take the "let him catch it, then pound him" approach. They will likely score anyway, so why not play coverage for the hit?

you meant the "bully" approach? absolutely.

disrupting the quick timing routes with press. and geez guys recognize the passing lanes and get the hands up. i have said that a million times. screw with his lines of sight if you aint gettin home.

and hit them.

you cant beat brady so you have to beat the players around him.

Have you spoken with Dennis and Rex yet?

You should.

I like this approach as well. Only difference is that I would mix in the occasional blitz in the A gaps

If he throws it in 1 second then a pass rush does no good. Have 2 DL jump up and bat the ball down. Corners play man up like it's the goal line and don't let the receiver release. Safeties play where the corners usually would and provide secondary coverage. 8 db's, 2 DL, 1 MLB. Let what's his name the RB beat you but don't let Brady. Dare them to run the ball

All the owners team up to boycott the Pats. Just don't show up to the game.

Give em their perfect season with themselves.

During offseason, move them to LA forevermore banished. Wipe all records of the Pats and ban Bill and Tom from the Hall.

At this point the Patriots and their scoring point source Tom Brady are literally unstoppable in the conventional football sense. The usual football defensive gameplan is not working. It seems as if teams need to start taking risks or go beyond conventional defensive wisdom. Especially near the red zone, where if teams don't do something differently he / they are going to score anyway.

Should teams (the Bills) concede that they are going to score and take some unconventional risks to try and stop them?

Example- rush 9 and cover 2, one guy covering Gronkowski and one guy covering Edeleman? Something different?

They need to jam up the WRs hard at the line and double Gronk and pressure up the middle. Also running the ball a lot will keep him of the field.

Pressure up the middle, blizting safeties if you have to. And man, press coverage on all the receivers. You absolutely have to disrupt the timing of the offense.

Laying back in a zone is stupid. Playing 7-10yds off the receivers to tackle after the quick catch is stupid. Rushing 3-4 all game and no pressure is stupid. Yes, you'll give up big plays blitzing Brady, but that's the only way to get him to make a mistake. And you're gonna get the ticky tack BS calls... so make them count! Lay Brady and that eddleman out every chance you get.

Offensively, go no huddle the entire game and don't let them substitute. And if you're in 4th and short... Go for it. You need TDs, not field position.

edit: fake calls on the sideline into the helmet and from the booth, the wristband has the plays listed on it with a number, change the wristband/numbers with each quarter, fake game plans in the locker room, and every other means possible to circumvent their cheating

A dash of Polonium 210 in his water bottle would do the trick.

Not even funny. That's a horrible way to go.

Try cyanide, belladonna, or aconite. Much less cruel.

Pound the snot out of their receivers at the los and any other opportunity. Run right into the pick and take out both guys. Rush 4 and try to smack Brady around and rattle him keeping the quick passes away. Other than that score on every possession you get.

I approve. Someone needs wipe that smirk off of Edelman's face...

exactly. two seconds is all the defense has. for the rusher to get to brady he must get behind the line untouched with a clear line of sight. rushing 9 should accomplsh this, no?

Dude. I think no one wants to make you feel bad.

If you rush 9 and they have a 4 wr set, you will have 2 wr open. If Brady is in shotgun, what do you think he will do. You cant rush 9 when 2 wrs are wide open... C'mon man..

I agree with a new strategy. But yours stinks.

If no one can get off the line and the safeties are disciplined? Might be worth a look.

or the linebackers recognize better.
