Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I hate to admit but New England just might be the best football franchise ever. I can't think of team that has been this dominant for this long as them. I now they cheated but you still have to make the plays on the field and that they have done. 6 Superbowl appearances 4 wins, division champs almost every year for 15 yrs against a league built on parity is unprecedented .
Buffalo Barbarian Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 steelers went 8 times with 6 wins, right? yes but they weren't dominant every year in that stretch. the one year the Pats didn't make the playoffs they went 11-5 with Cassel which usually gets one into the playoffs
truth on hold Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Greatest ever and bad news .... just have to live with that apparent contradiction. Kinda like OJ
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Cheaters always win. Bad guys always win. It's the nature of the world. To paraphrase Dark Helmet: "evil will always win because good is DUMB!!!"

No. Repeated cheating has tainted their legacy.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 No. Repeated cheating has tainted their legacy. I'd take repeated success for 15 years without integrity over utter failure ANY day.
HamSandwhich Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'd take repeated success for 15 years without integrity over utter failure ANY day. And that's what's wrong with the world.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 And that's what's wrong with the world. One has to work within the bounds of ones reality.
HamSandwhich Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 One has to work within the bounds of ones reality. Mental gymnastics are abound this morning I see.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Mental gymnastics are abound this morning I see. So is denial apparently
HamSandwhich Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So is denial apparently If you don't see the ridiculous nature of what you said, then I can't help you. You're ok with cheating as long as we win. That's pretty ridiculous. My original statement stands. Do you not believe that this type of thinking as a whole (and I know it happens, I'm not ignorant) is a big part of what's wrong with this world?

But it's the way the world works, and not just in football. I'd much rather see a level playing field but I believe that won't ever happen Edited October 30, 2015 by joesixpack
HamSandwhich Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Oh I believe it's wrong. But it's the way the world works, and not just in football. And that's what's wrong with the world. I just can't stand that train of thought. Makes it sound like everyone has accepted that as the reality and will never change. Everyone has learned helplessness. I think things are changing with everything being so transparent these days (for better or worse), but the more people who don't believe that line of thinking and press the envelope, the better. Ok, i'll stop hijacking this thread. Pats are cheaters!!!
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 And that's what's wrong with the world. So the choice is rant on about it or play along. Practical thinking dictates you play the game in the way the system is designed.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 It helps when the NFL invents rules like the tuck rule etc to help the cheaters. plus the blind eye refs seem to have of the offense penalties committed by them

But the D last night was outstanding, and they got rid of all those guys! Edited October 30, 2015 by plenzmd1
boyst Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 When ya cheat, break bend and manipulate the rules you will usually have luck favor you. How many times has luck favored them? And when it doesn't the NFL coetails to them. The only thing you can say is that the Patriots are playing supreme football. Sadly, much like this time last year before deflategate, we don't know what else is going on.
mead107 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 can not take it away from them , they make the plays. No matter how much you cheat you still have to make the plays.
