Personally, I'm not offended. It doesn't phase me in any way, shape or form if Sammy Watkins thinks my job is little or whatever term he used. I know I'm proud of what I do, my wife is proud of what I do, and that's what matters. I don't give a rats @ss what some pampered rich athlete who has no idea of what reality truly is thinks about the jobs of others. I'm surprised so many people have truly taken offense to what he said. Unless you're friends or family with him, why do the words of someone who believes they're better than you phase you at all?

I totally agree with your first four sentences above, although there may be SOME people who don't.

Your last two sentences are off the mark though. This is a message forum where we discuss ALL things Bills' related, so even though I'm not "truly offended", and it doesn't affect my life in any way (I can say the latter about the whole NFL too), I can still offer an opinion about an idiotic statement that a Buffalo Bill made. And again, SOME people may be offended...in today's world, there's ALWAYS going to be somebody offended by everything, LOL......so shouldn't they be allowed to express their opinion?

Sorry I haven't read through 27 pages here - has anyone already suggested that Eugene Parker gave Sammy the playbook to get himself out of Buffalo, which includes being a bit of a malcontent? I suspect this is agent-driven.

Also, he's only what, 20?

Way too early for that discussion - he could wait 3 years and start with the same effect and less backlash

I mentioned it a few times in these 27 pages. One of them, somebody said Sammy should run this stuff by his agent. I said his agent is Eugene Parker and loves this.

Isn't it that Parker runs the agency but isn't his agent?

Yeah, but at some point don't people get sick of looking for something to be outraged by? A comment someone makes in a reply on their own personal account is the modern equivalent of an overheard comment in a bar and doesn't merit much of a reaction. I can't be the only one sick of seeing people combing through other people's online activity to hold them up to public shaming.

This. Its like with the advent ov social media any yahoo with a chrome book can play amatuer "gotcha journalism".

That's just rude. If you are calling me a racist, come out and say that. Thanks, point whiffer.

Hockey players have a different mentality than just about any other athlete. They are professional athletes who seem to be a lot more willing to hang out and be real with fans. Also, they get their teeth knocked out, and miss one shift. They take punishment all night, and don't miss a shift. They beat the hell out a guy on the other team, and go out for beer and pizza afterward. There is an honor to that sport that you don't find in other sports.

Someone who gets it---football players could learn alot from the hockey guys.

I love hockey, but to think there's more honor in the game than football is up for debate. For every stand-up guy, there's a Rafi Torres. There's a reason why the NHLs conduct policy is under as much or more scrutiny than the NFLs . There little precedent, and of course, those thrilling 5-min video explanations telling the masses why player X will get 5 games for his latest elbow into player Y's head. And fighting in the NHL is trending toward the least honorable thing as its staged and rarely fills a purpose.

Given the grammer and speling on this bored, nobody hear should be calling out Sammy on his English. Expecially the guys who talk about dominate defenses, loosing games, and Tavares Jackson.

Here, here!

I mean, for all intensive purposes the grammer on this bored is beyond horribel.

I'm a big hockey fan as well but there are a few points I'd like to make.

As a country, we've put star football and basketball players on a pedestal. It's gotta be easier for hockey players to remain more humble when they don't get all the recognition.

Football players beat the hell out of each other and then are friends after the game too.

Guys miss shifts all the time.

NHL has issues with cocaine usage and has also been accused of having a bit of a "rape culture".

Oh guys, I wish I got as worked up as all of you over something not even directed toward me

I don't see anybody getting worked up. I see people participating in the great internet past time of ripping a guy who said something stupid. That and porn are what keep the internet going.

Isn't it Sammy who is weak-minded?

No, maybe, i dont know? I see it as this. "Those who live in glass houses should not throw stone"

Bills fans threw the first stone(s). Sammy was just throwing them back. Don't be offended that he did.

He acted childish which is why he probably realized it and deleted the post later. He is in the public eye, at least in Buffalo. If he isn't thick skinned enough not to let the anonymous troll posts get to him then he shouldn't be on social media. It's just that simple.

Or he did what most of us would do if our family and livelihood were maliciously being attacked by strangers and defend ourselves. Did he handle it the best way, probably not, but I still cant blame him.

Who is more childish, the people attacking Watkins because "My fantasy team bro" or Watkins for telling them to piss off?

That's like asking who is being more childish when a 3 year old gets into a pushing fight with a 4 year old.
