ch19079
Bengals | R. Johnson Franchised - from www.KFFL.com Tue, 15 Feb 2005 11:31:53 -0800 Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have placed their "franchise" tag on RB Rudi Johnson, who was slated to be an unrestricted free agent March 2. The tag carries a $6.3 million value for the 2005 season. As previously reported, Johnson has said he would be willing to sit out the 2005 season if he were tagged as the team's franchise player. does anyone think R. Johnson is a top 5 RB??? hes good, and young, but not 6.3 million dollars per year good.

pkwwjd
was peerless price a top 5 WR? Not by a long shot. Those is just the rules they gotta live by. That's their only possibility to keep him right now.

Mike32282
Once Seattle gets a GM, I could see them franchising Shaun Alexander. I also think that Edge will be franchised. This is GREAT news for Travis Henry's trade value imo.

CosmicBills
Didn't Rudy say he will sit out for the entire year if he was tagged? Trouble is brewing.
ajzepp
Maybe Mike Brown (or whoever) is having delusions of grandeur, thinking he's actually TD or something.
stuckincincy
He set the team carry and yardage records. 12 rushing td's. And garnered 73 first downs. That's impressive... Perhaps the Bills might conside the other B'gals FA, WR TJ Houshmanzdeh, who combined with the goofy Chad Johnson for the most tandem yardage. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235094

d_wag
That's their only possibility to keep him right now. 240321[/snapback] ah, why not just give him a long-term deal? that is a possiblity, seeing he wants to be there long-term (for some god forbidden reason).......
