drinkTHEkoolaid Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Interesting. Are the votes confidential? Curious how the Pegulas vote
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I like the Englewood option but with the chargers instead. some radio guy from LA was talking abt how much better Englewood would be with being able to everything around town plus the game.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 @judybattista there is strong opposition to the Raiders in LA among owners, I am told. And there is a definite sense at least the framework of a global settlement will be done tonight. @KTLA Update: NFL owners leaning towards Chargers, Rams move to LA http://on.ktla.com/NeO6D
Heitz Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Rams and Chargers to Inglewood - book it. I like this - I go to CA a few times a year and I think it'd be great to see a LA Chargers v Buffalo Bills game in a brand new, CA stadium!
IronyAbounds Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Cant see it given the Pegulas' ownership of both sports teams and their heavy investment in downtown Buffalo as shown by Harbor Center, the Marriott, and 716 Sports Bar. I certainly hope you're right, however, if there is no public money for the stadium, I don't think it gets built, and the NFL will be pressuring the Pegulas to move since The Ralph will be deemed inadequate for the plutocrats who run the league.

I'm with 26. Don't stress
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 @LATimesfarmer Roger Goodell is discussing a new proposal with the owners. Vote coming very soon.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Actually probably not. If history repeats itself, once the team actually leaves, the city then will turn around and give some new team exactly what their old team that just left had wanted all along. See Baltimore, Cleveland, Houston, and even St Louis. Raiders could go to St. Louis I know, totally dumb. But Kronke is leaving no matter what.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 @RapSheet Key for @NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: How to make sure the #Raiders are happy. Sounds like #Chargers able to join #Rams in Inglewood
FireChan Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Jason Cole @JasonColeBR 1m1 minute ago Source just said #Chargers will be given the right to relocate to Inglewood, joining the #Rams
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I read someplace the league will either loan or give (can't recall which) Mark Davis the money to build a new stadium in Oakland. @RapSheet Key for @NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: How to make sure the #Raiders are happy. 26CornerBlitz Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 I read someplace the league will either loan or give (can't recall which) Mark Davis the money to build a new stadium in Oakland. I'm just glad we don't have to deal with this LA madness as Bills' fans. Thank You Pegulas!
Hammered a Lot Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 The NFL's greed and indifference to fans other than the super rich is just disgusting. Wait and see what happens if Buffalo and the State of New York aren't willing to cough up big bucks for a new stadium. It will be the London Bills, the Mexico City Bills, the Las Vegas Bills or the San Antonio Bills once the onerous prohibitions against moving expire in the current lease. The city of Minneapolis kicked in $150 million plus for the Vikings stadium. Buffalo 2nd poorest city in the USA I would think has zero bucks to kickin considering some of the infrastructure problems that are already present in other parts of the city. Erie County Executive is in favor of rehabing the Ralph. New York State governor has said no $$$ for a new stadium. So it comes down to the Pegulas spending roughly $1 billion or rehab the Ralph or as once again I heard this weekend from someone who does not know my position in the stadium location issue talked about the sale of ECC South land for stadium development. We all can speculate but in the end it's up to the Pegulas.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 @RapSheet Key for @NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: How to make sure the #Raiders are happy. Sounds like #Chargers able to join #Rams in Inglewood boo Rams! prefer to keep a team in St Louis , not many Midwest teams as it is. I say we put one in Montana
Heitz Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I'm just glad we don't have to deal with this LA madness as Bills' fans. Thank You Pegulas! Right? For a long time THIS moment was what we most feared. The vote taking place now. And then if it wasn't LA it was Toronto... Amazing that the Pegula's came along and saved our little team! You think people are pissed about Rex? TBD would explode if they were voting to move the Bills. I'd have my pitchfork lit for sure!!
Buffalo_Stampede Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Believe it or not but the Sabres were in a lot more trouble than the Bills ever were. Pegula made it easy for us, but Bills were never going to LA. Now Toronto is a different story.
Saxum Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Personally I think putting 2 AFC teams into a stadium will be a nightmare. Should have approved Rams move conditionally and told them they needed to pick one of the two teams to be partner like with NJ stadium of NJiants and NJets. Rams already said they were open to this option and then let Chargers and Raiders give their proposals to Rams. Edited January 13, 2016 by Koolaid
sodbuster Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Apparently they got the Raiders to back out of their contract with the Chargers, so Chargers/Rams is pretty much a done deal. I'd love to see what the league offered Davis to get him to back out.
