1) watching Indy game and Collins lines up about 5 yards deep in defensive backfield, but directly in front of center on extra point try. He times the snap perfectly, making a straight line and leaping directly over the center without being touched and blocks the extra point.

Why is this not lining up over the center? I mean he was directly in front of center peesnap, and if not timed perfectly plows into center as he gets out of stance.

2) on challenges, if you first one is correct, I know you have both left use. But if your second one is not successful, do you lose your last one , or do you still keep it.

Thanks for the help gents.

I can't answer the first question but to answer the second.

You have to get both challenges right to get another challenge.

So just because you get the first one right, it doesn't you still have two left.

You still have to get the next one right to earn a Third one.

The lining up directly over the center only applies to anyone within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage. If he was within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage before the snap he should have been flagged. I'm assuming they saw something that the team did just before the snap that would give away the timing.

Also, a player jumping over the line to block a kick, if he wasn't within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage at the snap, will get a 15 yard penalty if he lands on any player from either team when he comes down. So the whole thing can be risky.

Okay, thank you.

Well, he was lined up far back, but logic dictates at the snap he was within one yard before the snap...at least in my mind.. So if the center would have reached up and touched him it would have been a penalty?

I saw #1 last night and thought the same exact thing.

Hard to say. The rule just says it's 15 yards for unsportsmanlike if the player is "running forward and leaping in an obvious attempt to block a field goal or try kick and landing on players, unless the leaping player was originally lined up within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage when the ball was snapped."
