The Poojer Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 and did they really need to call him a 'white western hunter'? Sure Germany is west of Zimbabwe but not by much. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/zimbabwe/11934535/Huge-tusked-African-elephant-killed-by-german-hunter-in-Zimbabwe.html

The Poojer Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 You aren't outraged unless you put it on social media, true story! I am outraged. Senseless killing of a beautiful animal
DC Tom Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Holy ****. 120 lbs of ivory per side was good in any era...but nowadays, that's gargantuan. At current black market prices, that ivory is worth about $50k, still about $10k less than his license cost.
KD in CA Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 You aren't outraged unless you put it on social media, true story! My six year old says that now. Everything is "true story!"
Chef Jim Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I am outraged. Senseless killing of a beautiful animal Outraged and awareness. Two words I don't need to hear anymore.
Nanker Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) Seems to me that this issue from Poojer's linked story is a more significant problem and should be dealt with: "Meanwhile Zimbabwe National Parks has called for stiffer penalties for poachers following the discovery on Tuesday of 26 more elephant carcasses that died of cyanide poisoning at two different locations in the Hwange National Park. Cyanide poisoning is a growing problem in the country since a mass poisoning in October 2013 resulted in up to 100 deaths. (from that link - it was actually 300 elephants - edit Nanker) The 26 elephants were discovered by rangers following another discovery last week of 14 other elephants, also poisoned to death by cyanide." CountryCletus Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 There was no political shinanigans to cover up, so it didn't need any coverage...
