YoloinOhio Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 AW out 7 games at least. Leo set to return soon. Would likely be a backup CB. Those who really understand the nuances between moving from Corner to Safety, do you see this as a possibility?
Pete Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I was thinking McKelvin could play free safety all along. He could man up at the line or play deep and use his speed to make a play at the ball. I have been wondering how to get Darby, Gilmore, Robey, McKelvin, and Graham all on at the same time
HamSandwhich Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I was thinking the same thing today, but I figured I would get flamed for bringing it up. I wonder if this is viable?
K-9 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I can't see it, especially for this season. We need guys who have had reps at the position in this scheme. GO BILLS!!!
I'm Spartacus Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Bills today, signed Safety Josh Bush (ex NY Jet).
HamSandwhich Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Bills today, signed Safety Josh Bush (ex NY Jet). Still, I wonder if they will try it out?
YoloinOhio Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Bills today, signed Safety Josh Bush (ex NY Jet).i know... This is just an option since that guy isn't likely to be starting caliber
BrooklynBills Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) It would be nice to somehow have Gilmore, Darby, Robey, graham, and mckelvin on the field together. Size does not seem to be a major factor in where you play in the secondary in this defense. Edited October 14, 2015 by BrooklynBills
Canadian Bills Fan Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Would Leodis want to play safety though? CBF
YoloinOhio Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 I can't see it, especially for this season. We need guys who have had reps at the position in this scheme. GO BILLS!!! that would be ideal but I don't trust Duke or Rambo ... Leo was with the team all through OTAs, TC, and in all the meetings and practices. So he would know the scheme and maybe the ramp up would be more from a physical reps perspective.
Big C Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I mentioned this in the AW injury thread. It would be getting a far superior player to Duke/Rambo out there.
Saxum Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Issue is safety is making the calls and Leo has not been in the meetings; if the Bills anticipated this possibility and he has been learning the role it might work.
eball Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Don't take this the wrong way -- is Leodis smart enough to play FS in Rex's system?
Dorkington Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Don't take this the wrong way -- is Leodis smart enough to play FS in Rex's system? I was gonna say something similar haha. Leodis seems to work best when you tell him "stay in this guy's pocket", and that's about it.
Maury Ballstein Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 More Leo ! Anything that gets his athleticism on the field is good.
Captain Hindsight Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 How is McLovings tackling? Not worried about coverage with any of our guys, with safeties I worry tackling

Those who really understand the nuances between moving from Corner to Safety, do you see this as a possibility? I like it, and pondered the same possibility - it essentially would add a potential play-maker to the backfield who can cover, run and stuff the run when necessary....just not catch that well.

Leo was leading the league in INTs last year before the injury.
