BarleyNY Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 We can only speculate as to why, but I'll give it a shot. What if he likes his development in Atlanta? Maybe he's getting quality coaching and making progress as a QB and doesn't want to screw that development up over 60k. Oh, and he doesn't want to have to worry about maybe having to find a new team in a month.
papazoid Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 if he quits on ATL where he sees a clear path to a permanent backup job, he will be without a team after buffalo cuts him in a couple of weeks.

papazoid Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 being a backup qb is a much nicer gig than getting a real job outside of football

I guess that is not saying much. But if Simms thought the Bills didn't have faith in EJ he very well may have signed back. That's just conjecture but a guy like Simms will almost always go to the place that gives him the best chance to start. He chose to stay on the PS as the #3 vs being on the active roster for two games or so (a much bigger paycheck). That's my take as well. No way does he not return to Buffalo if he felt that the coaching staff was still wavering on EJ.
K D Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 thank god. i'd rather they put Josh Johnson in and run the ball every play rather than ever let Simms throw a pass for this team.
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 His father likely got paid well, though not on the level of today's top qbs, but well enough to have the family financially secure, which is a good thing for Chris' career, because he doesn't have to chase the money, he can do what's best for himself, football-wise.
