He took himself out because he basically had the wind knocked out of him. Dumb move. Lost his starting job.

Better for Houston as Hoyer looks to have the hot hand. Mallett looking grumpy on the sidelines.

Why was ryan mallett removed?

he got hit in ribs, went to sideline, cleared to go back in but Hoyer looked better, pouted, went to lockerroom instead of celebrating TD at end of half as rest of team stayed on field for PAT

Mallet is a crybaby. I have always really liked Hoyer; they ought to stick with him.

Haha! Unreal. Was the hit severe? I mean we rarely see QBs go out for 1 play. Mallett may not be tough enough for this league.

Did he seriously go into the locker room early? What a tool.

Thanks. Bet he wishes he never left this game.

it actually reminded me of the play when Thad got lit up in the Saints game a couple years ago and ended up with cracked or bruised ribs. He left and came back in (but Tuel was the other option so...) but then missed the next week as he could barely breathe.

Man, they are handling Watt and Clowney. I am amazed no one else can get pressure.

i am amazed as well. This is widely considered to be one of the weakest OL in the league.

Texans are being treated like the Bills by the officials in this game.

I am No conspiracy theorist-- but isn't it funny how the NFL's poster boy teams, always get the calls...
