NFL clubs expand commitment to playing International Series

NFL clubs Wednesday approved at a league meeting in New York a resolution which extends the ability to play international regular-season games through 2025 and broadens the league's opportunity to play games in countries other than the United Kingdom.

The decision expands upon the 2011 resolution which permitted the NFL to schedule international regular-season games in the UK through the 2016 season.

"This marks an important step in our long-term international growth," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "Fans in the UK have responded incredibly well to the regular-season games we have played in London since 2007. They have demanded more NFL games, and we have worked to accommodate them. We think it's time to expand our International Series to other countries and respond to the growing interest in our game not only in the UK, but elsewhere around the world."

Hopefully we extend the season to 17 games, add a bye week, and remove two preseason games... have that odd game be an international game, and every team have one per season, or something. That way teams don't lose home games, there's one less game for players to worry about, and one extra week of rest in the regular season.

Ugh, I hate this.

They can have preseason games. Or they can try NFL Europe again.

This doesn't sound horrible either.

London, Toronto, how about Vancouver? Frankfurt Germany.

Anyplace where there are Americans close, like overseas military bases, should do pretty well. Other places will fail much like NFL Europe did.

That would make too much sense. Therefore, the owners wouldn't approve it.

All games should be here.

The NFL needs more money, therefore a larger market. They have sucked pretty much all the revenue that can expect to from Americans. Expand or die.

Wanna bet they find themselves playing some games in South America?

Stupid move.

I live outside the States, its your game. I love that its your game. Keep your game! Enough of Goodell. Enough of selling out for christ sakes.
