Herron seemed like a good RB prospect coming out of Ohio St. Not sure what his deal is, but I hope he can provide some decent depth for us the next couple of weeks.

he was part of Tat-Gate and got suspended. Hurt his draft stock which wasn't that great because he's not super fast. But he isn't bad at all and has experience in the power run game with Bengals and Colts while still being young and a good fit for this offense. He's pretty versatile out of the backfield. He would be a decent replacement for Karlos. Edited by YoloinOhio

5'10", 213 lbs.

4.6 40 time.

Has averaged about 4.5 YPC in the NFL.

Zack Keefer of the Indianapolis Star said it was a "huge loss" for the RB room when the Colts cut Boom due to his shoulder injury.

Greg Doyel, also of the Indy Star, was likewise unhappy with Boom's loss:

"The Colts know football at the Ph.D. level. But what happened to Boom Herron, who was waived Sunday after being hurt Thursday? Stupid. Just stupid. And not only for Herron’s sake, but for the Colts’ sake. This is more than a nice guy you hate to see suffer an apparent season-ending injury. This was a guy the Colts were counting on as their backup running back..."

Supposedly Boom is not great in pass protection but a strong runner with decent agility.

Worked out for the Pats yesterday.

Sounds like a decent signing under the circumstances - assuming his shoulder is now okay.

I guess they really don't want Bryce Brown back.

Maybe Bryce has had it with the Bills & doesn't want to come back. I think he's a good back & would be a very good #2 for some team.
