26CornerBlitz Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Biggest disappointments of 2015's first quarter Colin Kaepernick is lost, Andre Johnson can't be found and the Bills are all over the place. We're four weeks into the season and already Gregg Rosenthal has uncovered some major disappointments. Bills consistency: Buffalo only makes this list because it authored two of the most fun, comprehensive beatdowns of the year. The destruction of Andrew Luck in Week 1 was an incredible opening statement. The Bills looked like a potential title contender during their win in Miami. Yet, they are 2-2 after mentally melting down the other two games. Rex Ryan has helped make the Bills a fascinating team to watch, but the results aren't any different than Doug Marrone's results thus far.
smuvtalker Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Can't say that I have a problem with that article. Inconsistency couldn't be a better word to describe us so far. The thing this year that has put more gray hairs on my head than anything is the Bills followed BOTH decisive beatdowns with complete mental meltdowns, AT HOME nonetheless...It seems that every time Buffalo starts getting a little national love, it goes right to their head and they come out that next Sunday and put up stinkers. Rex needs to get that trend fixed in a hurry. IMO, the inconsistency is the ONLY thing I can say that reminds me of the Bills teams of the past...
RealityCheck Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 This is not a 13 win team. I agree. They are a 15 win team.
r00tabaga Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I agree. They are a 15 win team.Ummmmm, you mean 14??? I say 10-6 still, even though I thought for a second they could be better.
Big Turk Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Perhaps we aren't good against teams coming off 10 days rest? Titans had a whole extra week coming off their bye....should we be worried?

BillsFan-4-Ever Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) how can a team "predicted" to be at the bottom of their division a "disappointment"? how can a team with a new HC and QB's with 14 t0 ZERO NFL starts be considered a "disappointment"? how can a team that lost to two SB Championship QB's be considered a "disappointment"? Who wrote this garbage? Edited October 6, 2015 by BillsFan-4-Ever
BarleyNY Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Only because expectations among a lot of fans and members of the media got way out of hand Exactly. Although it was enjoyable getting ripped by posters who thought the Bills were a near Super Bowl 50 lock. I still say they'll be better than average and have a real shot at a WC spot, but they are not able to compete with the NFL elite. QB play is most of the reason for that.
Best Player Available Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Only because expectations among a lot of fans and members of the media got way out of hand fans can be expected to have high expectations after such an off season. But things like sportcenter setting up shop at the Ralph certainly could have built up more than necassary self confidence with some players at the pats*** game for instance. In the least some higher profile players believed the hype. having the coach promote it even more doesn't help. A little humility Like " we haven't won anything yet" perhaps could get different results. the Bully BS is laughable. Just play tough and keep yer trap shut.
Chandler#81 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I don't need no stinkin' NFL poll to tell Me I'm disappointed!

BarleyNY Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 It's almost like the league is desparate to hype someone other than the usual suspects this year, and "tag" we're it They just need other teams that easy to hype. Let's face it, they'll be re-hashing the same crap on the Patriots come playoffs and there's only so much of that anyone can hear. Flashy offseason moves and a coach who's the anti-Belichick on camera make the Bills a great early season media darling. Winning will be necessary for them to be a late season media darling, however. If not they'll move on to whatever new teams are in the playoff mix.
The Frankish Reich Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Disappointing? How? Sure, the defense has been a disappointment. The offense has been a pleasant surprise. The results are as any rational person should have expected after the first 4 games on the schedule. In fact, if you were just going with the favorites in each game (pre-season) you'd have predicted an 0-3 start with our first win coming last week at home vs. the Giants. We are what we are -- one of those middle of the pack teams still right in the middle of the playoff hunt, but clearly not in the league of the elite teams.
BarleyNY Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I do like to divide up the regular season into quarters to gauge teams as doing so after every single game leads me to be too reactionary. 2-2 is a bit disappointing to the fan in me, but I figured 3-1 was the best the Bills realistically could be. 2-2 was probably more realistic seeing as how we have new systems being implemented and a starting QB who only has 4 years as a backup as experience. Looking ahead to the next quarter season I think we're looking at 3-1 or 2-2 again. The Oiltans are ripe for a thrashing with the pressure we are likely to bring against their rookie QB, but the Bengals look very tough. Jax is improved and Miami is a wildcard. They might be looking for revenge, but could just as easily be packing it in. Getting at least 3 wins over the next 4 is huge to the Bills as 5-3 is much different than 4-4 in the playoff race.

Disappointing not because of the 2-2 record but because they've displayed the talent to be championship contenders but have cost themselves two games by playing and coaching like idiots.

They were never in the Pats game, and while I hate to say it, they have shown nothing to suggest they are in the Pats league (yet). And they were pretty soundly beat by the Giants. They mounted comebacks in both, but the games were never seriously in doubt.
