26CornerBlitz Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Rex Ryan on DB's: "They're Playing Extremely Well" (0:59)The Bills head coach talks about the play of cornerbacks Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby.
Boatdrinks Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Seems to be the blueprint for success against us....it's a very hard offense to shut down, and Brady and co are by far the masters of it....sad to say...and Eli has two Super Bowl rings. I think we fared a little better vs Eli, especially in that 2nd half, but the first half of the game he was utilizing it to perfection. Gee, do ya think they fared a little better vs Eli? I mean he had less than half of Brady's yardage. The Giants had 16 points on the board with under 10 minutes to play in the 4 th quarter. If say it was a lot better, and Brady was the only QB to have a good day vs Bills so far. Most teams don't have Brady, so this strategy seems limiting offensively. I'd say a far greater concern is figuring out how to move the ball and score points on offense with the current injuries. The D is fine.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 @TyDunne Corners Gilmore & Darby now have 21 combined passes defensed, four picks. Gilmore: "From film study, I kind of knew every route they ran.”
Fixxxer Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Was Darby targeted today? Gilmore saw a lot of action and for the most part he was great.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 @TyDunne Gilmore saw on film that the Titans don't run many fades, other routes to the corner so he could cheat a bit on the inside routes.
Zac Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 i just assume that anyone who is down on Gilmore doesn't watch any other NFL games.
thebandit27 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 i just assume that anyone who is down on Gilmore doesn't watch any other NFL games. Safe bet
YoloinOhio Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 @BuffaloBillsPR: #NoFlyZone: #Bills CBs Ron Darby (11) & Stephon Gilmore (10) are the top two corners in the @NFL in passes defensed.

YoloinOhio Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) Green, Jones, and Sanu present a huge challenge this week. eifert is the bigger challenge. green is constantly criticized here for not being physical enough. He will not like the way he is defended next week. Edited October 12, 2015 by YoloinOhio

ganesh Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 yup, not their fault. seems like teams that have gotten to us (pats and giants) have gone after the slot coverage and LB corp with short routes and quick passes Bingo. Both Manning and Brady did exactly that. They created mismatches between their TEs and our LBs. That would have worked well if our LBs or Safeties did not make mental errors and forget tackling. The results from those games could have been different.
Nanker Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 i just assume that anyone who is down on Gilmore doesn't watch any other NFL games. Ah yes! The TOTALLY dedicated NFL fans for three hours on any given Sunday. They're REALLY into football.
LB3 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Green, Jones, and Sanu present a huge challenge this week. I wonder if we'll often see Mario Butler this week in the slot this week. Robey is giving up a lot of size no matter which WR is in the slot.
26CornerBlitz Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 @PatMoranMix96 (Per PFF) Stephon Gilmore only gave up 2 catches on 6 targets for a total of 20 yards. I wonder if we'll often see Mario Butler this week in the slot this week. Robey is giving up a lot of size no matter which WR is in the slot. Good point on the size disadvantage.
NoSaint Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 they have been fantastic. gilmore should be no surprise, but i know for many he is. darby was expected to be good - but this good this fast is a real treat.

Interesting to see where he fits w/ Darby playing so well. #Bills McKelvin, if he's fully healthy, will give the D more flexibility when they play teams like Cincinnati and NE. Imagine being able to put him on the boundary opposite Gilmore, and line up Darby 1-on-1 with Eifert. Same goes for the 2nd NE game; Gilmore can take Gronk 1-on-1, and you still have Darby and Leo to play the boundary and Robey to play the slot.
